updates
2014-03-15 - Compatible with game version 1.67. No changes.

compatibility
Supported for game version 1.67. Should work with game versions from 1.31 upwards, though.

scope
This mod is a rewrite of the second mod I wrote for TS3. I wrote it in 2009 and back then I was new to C#, OOP and the TS3 code base. Thus the code and the whole usability was, er, 'improvable'. After the Generations patch broke it, I decided that it wasn't worth to be salvaged and began rewriting it from scratch. So here it is, completely new and better than ever.

description
This mod will add a 2BTech/Aging Manager menu to all sims, mailboxes and the city hall. In there you'll find for example interactions to disable/enable sims' aging, reset sims' aging state, show info about sims' age and age sims down to a different aging state.

Heads up: The menu will only be available if the testing cheats are enabled. You don't need to shift-click or anything. These are regular interactions, but they're hidden if the testing cheats aren't enabled. This is deliberate so they don't disturb regular gameplay.

sim interactions
InteractionDescription
Show Age InfoShows information of the target sim's age in days/years in the current stage and in total.
Reset Aging StateResets the age of the target sim to zero in the current stage.
Set Aging DaysLets you set the target sim's age in the current stage in days.
Suspend/Resume AgingLets you disable and (re-)enable the target sim's aging. Warning: This setting will persist even if you remove the mod.
Age DownLets you age a sim down. Only available for Adults and Elders. Advice: Keep the target sim focussed until the process is complete to make sure they are running in full simulation. Otherwise the process might not properly complete.

mailbox/cityhall interactions
InteractionDescription
Show Age Info OfSame as the sim interaction but for a selection of sims.
Reset Aging Stage OfSame as the sim interaction but for a selection of sims.
Suspend/Resume Aging OfSame as the sim interaction but for a selection of sims.
Set Global AgingChoose the style of aging. EAxian is the original aging. TS2 style aging lets only the active family age. Hybrid aging uses TS2 style aging for households that are marked (see below) for hybrid aging and EAxian aging for all other households. Warning: The mod will not catch if a marked household gets split by you or the storyprogression. The new household resulting from the split will not be marked.
Mark/Unmark For Hybrid AgingSelect/Unselect the households which shall only age when you play them.

translation
This mod is fully localizable. If you are willing to support a translation, please read the instructions.

Disclaimer: I consider my mods to be free as free beer. I expect the same from your translation! If you are not okay with this, then don't support a translation! If you already supported a translation and are not okay with this, tell me and I will pull it.

Currently supported languages: English

legal stuff

possible conflicts
This is a scripting mod and as such the possibility for conflicts with other mods is very small. Only non-core mods that offer TS2-style aging might possibly conflict.

installation
Please follow Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Fileswiki. I can't explain it any better than that. Seriously, I won't even try even if you ask me.

deinstallation
Just rip it out whenever you like. Be aware, though, that disabling sims' aging individually (apart from the global aging setting) will persist independently from this mod.

support
I support my mods. I appreciate bug reports. I don't support mods or custom content in general. It's not an issue with a mod if it doesn't even show up in the game.

disclaimer

You must have the expansion, game version or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

One small issue, but great mod!
Love this mod, but I really wish "Age Suspension" would work (it seems this is a known issue though?). If I choose to "Suspend Aging" for my sim or her pet, it will show "Never" on the aging for a short while, but then they will begin to age again and I must re-suspend/reset-aging state. This occurs after about 3 to 4 sim hours from what I've experienced. Have fiddled with it a bit and this seems to be the main pattern, though, perhaps there is an action associated with the breaking of age suspension? If I notice anything else, I'll be back to add to this post. Also - thank you for the wonderful mod. It is a life saver for me, since I like to watch the rest of the town grow but enjoy keeping my set family how they are (or close to it). (Edit: Also wanted to mention I am using the latest patch & have all expansions installed).

Default Sims 4 Age Manager?
Is there a possibility that you can make a Sims 4 version of this mod? I've seen a few people already posting mods on other sites but none that have to do with aging. I don't want my 2 main sims to die but i want their kids to age and eventually die. I normally play with aging on but i start liking my starting sims and i hate how that when they have a baby that it stays a baby.

Thanks for this. It was really annoying when newly created sims would start at a random point in their current age state. I'm gonna be getting a few mods like this that fix the irritating things put in by the developers.

Thank you so much! And here I thought I had to transform my sim into a vampire to stop aging, but the pale look and bright eyes don't sit very well with me.

Up till recently I've mostly played with ageing turned off. I've now created a couple of 'dynasty' families and wanted to see how things pan out over several generations, but there are certain characters in my game I wanted to stay as they are as playmates for the children (Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan), so this mod is just what I need. It seems to be working so far, although I did notice a slight glitch: when I clicked on Claire Ursine in Sunset Valley she was showing the ageing manager menu, even though I had testing cheats turned off. It wasn't showing on any of my own sims though.

I've been playing with this fine for a while, today I went to Mark households for hybrid aging and as soon as I clicked on that button the game crashed. It happened 3 times. Any idea of the cause?? I love this mod!

@pjsutton, were there script errors for that? Probably not, since the game crashed, but checking doesn't hurt, I hope. Anyway, I'll try to find some time to check that out when I get home later today. If it seems like I forgot about it, don't hesitate to poke me with a stick. Not a sharp stick, please, just a regular one if at all possible.

No, there weren't any script errors unfortunately! I was gonna extract the DLL and also look at it because I had just finished updating a mod I am working on and that's when it happened... But I am pretty sure it wouldn't affect the aging manager!

The mod doesn't seem to be working in my game now. I updated to the latest patch 1.69 but before then, it was working perfectly. Now if I try to suspend a sim's aging, it doesn't seem to have an effect and the sim will just continue aging.

While this is a wonderful and very useful mod it does occasionally stop working for me when entering a previous save(when set on TS2 aging the aging sometimes reverts to default TS3, even though I have it set on that in all of my saves, I am on patch 1.67) so I would recommend backing up your game and resetting it upon entering to anyone who might be experiencing the same problem :/
