Tell yo' family this is hot business right here! My goodness a round house. I'm gonna pee myself w/glee! This is by far one of the coolest things I've seen building wise on here. You get to brush yo' shoulders off.

Rayea --

No doors, but ... For the exterior, use the single tile windows to fill in the rest of the side after using a 'normal' door or arch. Those big frame ribs on the windows closes off the space between the spheroid glass and a plain wall.

If you want a totally smooth look, you could place a door (like a totally transparent version of Numenor's Wall Windows), then use the move_objects on cheat to place a window over it. The cutout for the window usually doesn't happen when you first place windows like this over another window/door/arch. However after you save, exit to neighborhood, and then come back in, the cut out happens and things look 'right'. Sims walk right thru windows placed like this. As far as your sim routing is concerned, the window isn't there.

I did put some effort into making doors, but they never looked right. Of course, if any one wants to add to the set -- wonderful. (A note so I could add to my own download folder would be appreciated.)

As to the aquarium look .... This set is very easy to recolor ... it would be an excellent second project (the first being whatever the tutorial is set up for).

Rayea -- if you have a very specific shape needed to make your 'twisty' house work, send me a pm. Depending upon my real life demands (which come & go), and also how geometrically difficult, maybe I could make a specialized piece for the set. I love unique houses and building supplies.

no, no specific twisty house hehe.
im using some brown windows from mail order bride i think it was called. grabbed em casue they looked like i could use them for shoji style windows, but the brown works great with your wicker.

would it be at all possable to connect your shperes with numenors wall windows for recolor? that way, all the recols we have of the wall windows would work with the spheres AND your sphers would become recols for the windows?
(slap me if its not possable, im no coder or modder. i only make walls and floors, and use everyone elses wonderfull cc. my roman plaster walls are falling behind becaue im playing eden eternal too lol)

have a look at the place i said, i grabbed some wonderfull space station tube style fences that turn into tunnles ^^ those are the other things im using.

what about the windows with just one side, left or right only. that way, i could make a 4panel wall and connect those tunnels to the wall with the 2tile airlock archway?

I think I know which fences you are talking about from Male Order Bride. They are sort of blue & chrome? Really cool looking.

There is no way to join Numenor's windows & these into 1 recolor set. That sort of thing has to be planned from the beginning.

I had thought about making a column that was essentially the side frame of the window, and maybe I'll try to get that done. Have to give a look to the angles -- that is the tricky part in these. Hopefully, it could be done with only 2 columns (upper & lower). If it is done as single windows, then you are looking at 4 new catalog pieces (and 8 new packages, because they would each need a diagonal.) You do realize that this would only allow you to do 'straight' 4-tile long window runs. It wouldn't make a sphere that has a 4-tile side ... though you can make spheroid kind of shapes.

I am very happy that these windows are inspiring you. That is the memory I need when a project is not going well. Thank you.

If you are a wall maker & floor maker, then these are excellent meshes to learn recoloring -- which is very simple. Every wall you have could (theorectically) become a sphere recolor. ... and the rugs are all based around the texture for floors.

i would have to learn to use special tools though, not just copy and paste from paint.
its the breeze window and door set i used.

i guess when i said i make, i realy meant i dabble in making wallpapers and paints for my romans. since i cant find some nice cheap and poor roman plasters much, i have many many rich romans walls. had to resort to cloning with homecrafter.

anyhting more complicated than that and my brain locks up (belive me, when i tried coding ro make mining nodes on ATS crafting during my neverwinter nights1 days, my brain nearly ran out of my ears, till a made a notepad copy/paste for them..sadly, i lost that page years ago) it is not prety to see me staring at the screen nearly cross-eyed in concentration XD

tis a shame things have to be created like that from the start, but i kinda figured that was the case. cant blame a girl for hoping, can you? :P

guess i will have to dig out my old photo accy from someplace so i can take some pics, if i ever get satisfied enough with things. im a bit of a frustraited architect/ interior designer, i tend to build and not play. so i would expect my poor sims to fall over stuff alot lol.

the other walls i have been using arent walls at all lol. its decor walls from the 'simland mall' set. they come with multiple sets of 3 glass pannels on them, and i found that they are fantastic when used with the windows from the space center on the same page. mix that lot with the wallwindows from numenor and you have more than enough (almost lol) to make loads of sci-fi city stuff. the only thing i guess i would be missing is a clear set of your windows for making biospheres (wow..what about the geodesic dome style stuff from the eden project as a skin :O ) and maybe a deco Blitzball field XD (ff10 fan too hehe)

*edit. well slap me sideways ^^ i need to use my eyes more often. *didnt look at the link at the bottom of the sig till now*
that recolor at your hosts site is awesome, and your a mine for steampunk ^^
my space 1889 sims thank you

Hello Bluetexasbonnie!
Sorry for the late reply, but… well, you were absolutely right! I was pleasantly surprised, that despite former experiences of miserable failures it was really easy to actually get a working recolor done for your amazing mesh. And while the results are definitely far from perfect due to my limited abilities, I like them:

Thx again!

Wow Nemo! Those look really cool! I may have to think about a hobbit house of my own ... being a south Texas girl, I don't understand igloos, though our summer temperatures make the thought of them appealling.

Those homes really look good. Thank you.

(The meshes are not set up to have the inside different from the outside. Sorry.)

agreed on the WoW ^^
i thought about igloo myself, along with many things that pass through my mind at 3am when i cant sleep.
thinking and making though, are 2 differnt things for me XD.
bonnie, how about a curtain? one thats set to match the shape of the inside of the window, and could be recolored to make it *look like the inside and outsides were different? is it even possable to make curtains that fit that shape? i mean, im allways full of bullc, ah i mean not allways doable ideas ( ) but i have no idea what is actualy makeable or not.
(actualy, curtains might be very good, specialy for sectioning off a bathroom inside the spheres, i have been having trouble with that. do sims consider areas insice closed off fences as another room?)

A curtain to do that is possible, and shouldn't be very hard -- good creative thinking. I was thinking curtains, but was thinking traditional and hadn't been able to wrap my mind around what they ought to look like.

also, i have both of numenors invisible walls, and i have been working on the upstairs side of things. becasue i AM one of those players who hates stuff that cant be removed XD
(stems from the sims1 crismas cake that never went bad, but also sims were addicted and it wasnt even deletable once it was on a lot)

i have some pics (i actualy had brain in gear when i was messing about building this time) and the bottom layer is fine, but you said sometimes sims want to get to parts. well i used normal walls for the diagonals, connected them with the invisible prizon walls of numenors (casue they dont stop light) then used move objects to place normal streight upper windows from the set, and gave it some of your prefered fence above the roof to look like mini arbour type. once you take shadows off totaly, you stop getting the wierd shadow floor image.
(but it might be handy to have them turned on for the decorating XD so you know where a sim can and cant go casue of the invisible part of the walls ect)

bluetexasbonnie, this set is a TREASURE! Mootilda put me onto it when I posted in her Shell Villa comments that I'm interested in dome homes. (Since you're in Texas, I imagine you probably know about these folks? http://www.monolithic.com/ )

Anyway, Little Nemo's (Hi Nemo! :D) pics prove that with this set, I'll be able to indulge my passion for dome homes in-game. I love your spheres too, and now I have visions of a whole neighborhood or subhood of domes and spheres. Thank you so much!

I must say, I enjoy this build set very much. The possibilities go far beyond simple spheres and it works very well with your tower windows. Keep up the good work.

PS: I'll probably end up trying my hand at recolors, too. I agree that a glass version would be nice, along with some recolors to better match the tower windows.

Hi there!
First of all, let me say that I adore this creation very much! However I seem to have a problem with one of the recolors. It's showing something like a brick wall where the window is supposed to be. Is it meant to be like this? Also I cannot make the frame disappear. The game version is Mansion and Garden Stuff and the original color works fine.

This is really great, although no matter how hard I look, I cannot find the rugs. I looked under Misc. as said, but nothing.

I am happy to hear any ideas for my Storybook expansion project, as well as open to others helping.
Also, check out my object recoloring tutorial.

I forgot to mention it before, but I agree with DoReMiFaSoLaTiDo that the rugs and floor tile (items 7,8 and 9 in the image I think) are nowhere to be found, neither in this rar file here on MTS, nor in the file from the Sorcoress and Company. I would really like to have these. Please add them. Thanks!

Dang! I didn't find them either. I went on a slash & burn campaign for old unused files on my computer. At the time, I was not playing Sims2 and was certain I never would again.

However, I have gotten so pissed with Sims3 crashing despite several upgrades on my computer that I have gone back to Sims2. I will try to recreate the pieces

Greatly appreciated. I can see so many possibilities with these - an entire floating spherical alien world .... hobbit homes ...

Thank you! :lovestruc
