Yes, in my game they make everything bright white and if I place them outside during the night, all the land around the lot goes into daytime mode. This wouldn't be a problem with the light except I need them for a movie and the Nightlife lights just don't cut it. But I'll keep trying, they might work randomly...

Aww phooey, I have to say I will really miss the red light in my game, I use it on in all my uni campus's(sp?) as I created a photography darkroom set and the red light is perfect for creating the 'scene' I look forward to your update, but I shall be a patient 'lil bunny and not bug you :stick:

Hi everyone,

So it turns out this problem is not unique to my lights but also affects the objects upon which they were based, the inflatable Halloween ghost, pumpkin, and cat. It has to do with a special filetype in these objects (lightAttribOverride); Nightlife has a new system for incorporating these sorts of light effects into the game.

I've already figured out how to make a stable version of these objects for Nightlife (it involves adding new Lighting files in the game installation folders), but I wanted to see if I couldn't make an "all-purpose" ceiling light that would have several different light color options in one object, similar to the new club lights that are in the game. If I don't figure that out I'll just go back to releasing a different light bulb for each color - it would be a Nightlife-only version. Thanks for your patience,

J.

EDIT 9/23: I've released an updated version of these objects on the first page, and I've also included new spotlight objects. The objects in this thread will only work with the original Sims 2 and University; I've released a Nightlife-Only version of these objects as well in the following thread: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=91821

This update hopefully fixes the "flat red object" problem mentioned in previous posts. Also, I've included a pink ceiling light to fulfill a request made a long time ago. I tried making a black/UV light as well, but unfortunately it didn't turn out well - it just looked like a very weak purple Let me know if you find any issues with these new lights.

thank you so much for these, I love your lights and was feeling a little left out since NL was released thinking we wouldn't get to have the party lights. You rock!

Awesome work, the green one would especially go great in a haunted house

Jgwhiteus,

It's been a while.

This new set is working very well in my game EP0 (no EP), savable, workable and playable.

I've got a problem with this new set of coloured lights only when repackaging with the Clean Installer (CI).
I've checked that only these lights are having this pop-up with CI

JGWhiteous, you are the best! Really! God, your lights and cielings and 'glow in the darks' are SO inovative! How could Maxis have made the game without them?
