Are you having trouble obtaining a dusty old lamp for your sims to play around with? Well, fret no more!

UPDATES
  • 2013-02-05 Updated for 1.48, namely the LTR Tuning
  • 2012-04-16 Added a new flavor for the Lifetime Reward option, for those who prefer to be less cheaty: Genie Lamp now costs 60,000 LTH

Important Details:
  • This mod requires the Showtime Expansion.
  • This mod was built with patch 1.33, but should be compatible with 1.31 as well.

Compatibility:
  • This is an XML tuning mod and should not conflict with any script or core mod.
  • This mod will conflict with any other mod that alters the Mausoleum_0x639d4fc25ce639ab, ElectroDanceSphere_0x7d37a52e0b619694, Traits_0x905E2204EBCAC0B6, and ShowStage_0x15be3229756d5695 resources individually, in the GameplayData.package. If you do not pick a specific set of overrides, you will not have any conflicts.
  • Anything that overrides traits/rewards WILL CONFLICT with the Lifetime Reward override.
  • Does not conflict withe the mod allowing sim to enter catacombs if terrified.
  • If you are not sure if a mod will conflict with another, use Delphy's Sims 3 Dashboard Tool to check.

Thank you for this mod. Although I did the opposite and made things actually harder since the genie lamp is basically a cheat lol, and I like to earn my fortunes!

I figured that it's hard enough to obtain the lamp as it is (without buying it), so I decided not to add any tuning that would make it more difficult to obtain. The only thing I can really add, I suppose, is making the lamp cost 80,000 LTH instead of 30,000 LTH. Would that make it feel more like you have earned it?

Also, in terms of fortunes, check out my other tuning Genie Tuning for alternative More Wishes/Fortune values.

A great big thank you for this one! When it comes to grabbing a Genie lamp. we need all the help we can get. It's also really nice to have a choice of flavors to experiment with, and see which works the best for us...Making sure we completely uninstall one version before trying another, of course! One thing that always has me scratching me head, is the people who post about using the few small cheats that EA's developers program into the game for themselves and for US to use. They invariably adopt the same superior attitude "I'm a better player than YOU are because I NEVER cheat!" These folks also cop the same Hoity Toity manner when it comes to using Third Party Content. "I never use anything but EA content in MY game!"
All of these players behave as though using a cheat, or playing any way other than STRAIGHT VANILLA violate some sort of sacred oath or gamer's code. The more I think about it the less sense it makes. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with playing "Vanilla" - No CC. And, if you'd rather not use the few, small cheats that EA's Developers put into the game for THEIR and then OUR use, that's absolutely cool with me! But, really, do you have to inject that Superior, "I never cheat! manner whenever the ssubject comes up? Using the "cheats" that EA's Developers program into the game, really isn't cheating at all. If EA's Designers and Developers thought that these shortcuts were indeed cheating, they would have completely removed them before the game was released! Second, if they wanted players to adhere strictly to EA Designer Content, they would hardly create something like The Exchange, where players can openly upload their own designs, creations, and custom world and share them with one another. If EA weren't encouraging the use of Mods and Third Party Content, why would they spend so much time handing out Kudos to Simmers who design and publish their own Sims websites, make movies, and Machinima? Logic dictates that they would choose the opposite approach. So, why the attitude? Why act as though those of us who DO turn to the little shortcuts, that make the game, for us, less tedious and more fun, are NOT AS IMPORTANT as you? Why do you hint that adding third party content to the game, like someone in professional sports who uses steroids, disqualifies us as genuine players? This has always been something that has never made sense to me. Can you explain?

This mod suddenly stopped working with my Sims3 game, I have all stuff and exp. packs, when installed this causes all the lifetime rewards to disappear. It seems to have broke with SN or the new patch as I installed them both within three days and then three days after that I went to buy some lifetime rewards and *gasps* the box was empty there was nothing to buy. So I went through the lengthy process of weeding out the offending mod and it was this one. Don't know why, I myself am not a modder but I thought you ought to know, it might be broken.

Wow, it's beautiful outside. I should probably do something....

Like close the blinds on my window so there isn't a glare on my computer screen.

You're right--I haven't updated the these mods in a while. The random encounter mods *should* still function, but the lifetime reward overrides can be expected to break 100% of the time when new expansions are released.

I will have it fixed and re-uploaded. Thanks for your feedback.

I have updated the LTR Genie Lamp mods. The rest should be working the same. Let me know if you have any issues.

The LTR (Less = 20k) Lamp won't let me click any Sims.
I haven't tried the other LTRs, but this one is definitely broken in the sense that it takes out an important part of game play. (the lamp does show up as 20k though)
I have put in Great Performance Chance, Electro Dance Sphere, and Mausoleum without event alteration and those all work.
