yay! This totally ROCKS! I have a few sims who want to become musicians when they grow up but keep on having to take majors completely irrelevant to their future professions. Hope to see more from you

Crazychip, are you talking about normal career icons? If so, this is a quote from KLGFCG in another thread.
Quote:
With mucho thanks to Bobbling for the help, here's what I did to replace the icon. First, I found the image I wanted to use (in my case, free clipart... I can't make anything myself!!). I used Irfan View to resize the image to 36x36 (same as the career icon I was replacing) and saved the image as a .tga file. I then opened my career in SimPE and got to the part with the image. I only edited the second image in the list since that's the icon that shows in game. I right clicked and selected "replace." Then, I selected "all file types" from the pulldown menu on the bottom (it defaults to looking only for SimPE extracted files... screwed me up for a while trying to figure out why I couldn't find the image I wanted to use) and then selected the .tga image I made.

I also have a tutorial on how to replace images...
You can read it here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthre...ing+Career+Icon

My post is towards the bottom on the first page. (well, its the last post at present)

Hey, something i found out, or maybe it was meant to be there all the time. Today when i tried to get a university sim to apply for a major in art, the icon said "Music" instead of "Art". I deduce that this means the game may randomly show majors in the game itself. If this is the case, people may have to assign maxis majors to sims through SimPE as well.

I have the same issue with "music" showing up instead of "art". But it's no big deal. I know how to do it in SimPE now. :^)

Default Thanks!
Thank you so much!! I was a music majotr and love this download!!! I have a question though. I have downloaded other majors from people but they don't give instructions like you do. How to I know which number code to put in before the "music major" in SimPE if they didn't give to me in the download?

for example: in the code <item value="0xEC15A203">Music</item>, if all I got in the download was the file, how do I know the item value number to put in?

Hey guys, excuse the necromancy but I wanted to say I found the same trouble, with this one overwriting the Art major - I gave it a new guid, try this, it should work

Oh, about assigning custom majors like this one, there's an object mod on here called Majors Made Easier, that'll help you out
