I tested it out trying to plan a wedding and it won't let me select a generic lot. really is a bummer that EA doesn't allow for generic lots to be selected.

This no longer works and I don't think anyone is gonna fix it.. No one shows up in generic lots they just walk past. I wanted this for a cemetery but what I learned to do was just use park. while it does require you to have certain items, I simply built a basement and put those undesirable things underground. I made a mausoleum with a staircase leading to a basement with a walled off area with the monkey bars and that child space craft thing. no Sims spawn down there so you don't have worry about getting stuck.
