Im almost 100% sure he is russian because he was obsessed with russian Ikons(er Icons) and painted them exclusivly. Marius "bought" him at 10ish age and made him 5-6 years later so do the math :D

Marius transformed Armand into vampire at the 14th century, whereas this one was 17 years old.

When he was child, Armand lived in Russia, but one day he was captured by Tartars who sold it with a brothel of Constantinople (Turkey). He was then led to Venice (Italy), where Marius found it and repurchased it. Marius took it along in his palate, educated it, and fell under its charm. Consequently, it made of him a vampire.

Actually i was under the impression he was around 17? Marius didnt change him for a while.

Yes, Armand was Russian, young -- seventeen or so -- red-haired. Gotta love "The Vampire Armand." But it is an incredibly good likeness of Antonio Banderas.
