It's not exactly a wise thing to do in the UK either though I know someone who does swim outside all winter (and summer). I think she is a little mad myself. Good mod.

Oh, thank-you! My new lot I'm playing on has a pool, and I was worried about the oncoming winter.

I have wanted this fix for so long - like who goes swimming in the dead of winter? Thank you so much for bringing a little more sanity to our often insane Sims.

Thank you. Silly sims as you say they will swim any time without a little intervention.

Thanks, Gummilutt! I never even thought about this until I saw your mod. Now it's a must-have for realism's sake!

I live in Maine USA and getting wet in the winter is something to be avoided here as well. LOL. Thank you for a "common sense" addition to our Simmies!

While people around here might not have a problem swimming outside in the winter, there sure aren't a lot who would WANT to! This is going in my game and never coming out lol

Badmouthing? Nah, I'm saying the Finns are the most hardcore of the Nordics, and that the rest of us should stop pretending we can live up to that level of badassery

Does that work with playing with sprinkler? My sim went outside to play with sprinkler and end up falling on the grown cold. I was able to save her, but that was a close call.

No, this mod is made for pools. Sprinklers have their own code but you are most welcome to look at my changes and introduce them to the sprinkler code

I am retired due to health and my creations are unsupported. Load order will not help conflicts, you will have to choose which mod you want to use, or find a modder able to combine them for you

Well, I more or less knew that when I made my post, but still wanted to let you know, in case you ever got well enough to resume modding.

I notice the landlord still swims in the pool at apartment complexes in the dead of winter, with snow falling, but playables and visitors seem to stay out.
