The alpha build of the game is very close to Sims 1 than it is for Sims 2 and that is the reason they do not look like older pics show, they will grow up and as long as you make them look like what they did in game with makeup and clothes they are very close to there dead pics.
Your pic is not close to what they look like in my Sims 2 game. (I no longer have Sims 2 installed) but many other players have them grow up to look very close to the Sims 2 Wikia. https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/The_Sims_2
The stub file that was left in the game has the original DNA, looks and genetics. This is all that is left for the dead and deleted sims and all I added was what is need to make them alive again and playable.
Make a sims then delete that sim and then make a sim close to him and extract the data and replace what was deleted like I did and you will have that sim back with his original DNA, looks and genetics.
Then you extract this fixed sim and clone him to a new game and you have your sim back complete and playable with his original DNA, looks and genetics. (Until you do this you will never understand.)
I can not make them look like sims that was built in a Sims 1 game engine look like a sims 2 game engine sim and keep there original DNA, looks and genetics in Sims 2.
Just forget it you will never understand.
Enjoy your game your way and I will enjoy my game my way.
Have fun and goodbye.

I am not sure from where you have this information but Pleasantview was not made during the "alpha stages" of Sims 2. It was made close to release, Around the same time Riverside was made. It was made on the same engine that the Retail version of Sims 2 is with minor differences such as different portrait poses.
The sims don't have any of their DNA in their sim files actually, and the only DNA they have is actually left in the neighborhood file thing where only their Hair Colour, Eye Colour and sometimes Zodiac and Personality are listed. I followed what you did to fix Nighat Caliente and used Bella Goth as a base. Nighat was ressurectable, but she was a clone of Bella Goth.
The method you used does not give the original looks they have in their portraits by EA. If it was that simple to just ressurect those sims, why didn't for example the user Carrit who made the Completely Ressurectable Base Game Neighborhoods use that method? Cause it does not give accurate looks.
What was said in the description of Beginning of Pleasantview "These Sims have the original DNA, original Genetics and original looks." is completely wrong. Once you do what you said with completely different looking sims (e.g. Victor Goth, Les Pleasant) you will see that Les Pleasant would be a total copy of Victor Goth.
Just forget it, you will never understand.
