This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Description
With the ability for our Sims to get glasses of water from sinks now, I thought it would be a neat idea to create a functional water cooler for our Sims that would fit in well in offices or at gyms.
It's taken me quite a lot of work to get this to a point I'm happy with releasing. I think it's the first object that I have ever meshed, mapped, and textured all from scratch.

Info
The Aqua Pura Water Cooler, as it is named in the game, can be found under the Kitchen Appliances sort for a cost of 215 simoleons.
It is also tagged to show up in the Lot specific catalogue sections for Spas, Gyms and the Hospital if you use cheats to build there.
It comes in four fetching shades of monochrome as well as beige, for a total of five colours.
It features correctly animated water pouring.
The cooler CAN break and has the same probability of doing so as a sink (as that is what this object technically is with a few options removed).
The cooler can be repaired by your own Sim or you can call a repair techinician. The insta-replace option also works.
There is also the option to upgrade the cooler with Sturdy Faucets to decrease the rate at which it will break if your Sim has the required Handiness skill.

Updated Sept 10th 2019
The Admire New Possession option now only shows for Materialistic Sims again and will not show twice for them.
Updated June 7th 2019
Celebrities with the perk that allows them to donate objects will now have the option to donate the water cooler.

Notes
When repairing the cooler, Sims will just sort of play with a wrench in front of it without actually using it ON the cooler. Check the screenshots. So basically how Sims fix a sink by sort of waving the wrench about in the basin.
The cooler uses its own unique tuning so shouldn't conflict with any other objects or mods.
The desire to grab a drink from the cooler is the same as grabbing a drink from a sink as I haven't altered that.

I downloaded this long ago, but I never properly thanked you for it. Maybe because I didn't use it enough.

Better late than never, though! Thanks!

I added a slight update today. Celebrities are now able to donate the cooler if they have the relevant Perk. Redownload to get this added feature.

Does this still work with the Island Living pre-patch?

This is awesome! It will go great in the bachelor pad I'm building for one of my Sims.

I did a quick test of this in my game, and it still seems to work as of the August 2019 patch.

I can't personally say if anything is needed for it as far as Island Living is concerned, though.

The cooler still works fine but cannot be used on Lots with the Off the Grid trait as it is based on a sink and therefore requires a water supply. If there is enough interest I could look at making the Get Water function available with the Lot trait. I always imagined it would at least need power though to function if it were a real object due to any electronics.

I think it would be neat since that would work well with the functional solar panels mod. :D

Another update today. The Admire New Possession option will no longer show up twice for Materialistic Sims and will not show up at all for Sims without the Materialistic trait.

It appears EA changed how this interaction is handled. It used to be an option listed in the individual object tuning but now appears to be handled by the Materialistic trait instead.

Hmm...I've actually seen Sims without that trait have the Admire New Possession option before long ago on things. Maybe this was a bug that got ninja fixed in the September 5th patch?

If this water cooler could be Off The Grid that would be cool since it has its own water bottle

If I get chance I may take a look at adding Off The Grid functionality but I personally feel that it should still require a source of power since it is based on an electrical appliance and would therefore need power to cool the water (I know there's no actual hot or cold water in the Sims) and dispense it.

Yes you‘re right, but we have free standing sink off the grid, so why not this cooler which IMO actually makes more sense to me than a sink. I was already looking into your tuning file and adding the off the grid function isn‘t hard. You are a great modder and I know you can do it
