The Great Nevada Saloon

Originally built in the mid to late 1800s as two independent businesses, a saloon and a hotel, the two premises were united under the purchase of local businessman Harlan Jefferson in the early 1900s. He first viewed the property with the intention of salvaging the pressed tin ceiling in the saloon for use in his own house and demolishing both structures for resale as a vacant lot. Thankfully the timeless nature of the buildings both shone through and he bought both and merged them into one business. Born and raised on the frontiers of the 'wild west' as the 7th son of an enterprising prospector from the east coast, the opportunity to run a saloon and hotel business in a frontier town eagerly anticipating the arrival of the railroad seemed a very profitable idea, he christened the new venture 'The Great Nevada Saloon'. The hotel side of the business required an overhaul and so he installed plumbing and indoor bathrooms, his mantra for the hotel was "basic yet adequate for the traveling man." He also extended the building to include a 'Ladies' Lounge' "for those of a more delicate constitution to sit and dine in peace away from the rif-raf in the saloon". This would late go on to double up as a tearoom and cafe during morning and mid-day hours when the rest of the saloon was quiet.

This is another example of a lot that has been sitting, patiently waiting for completion and upload, in my game since about 2014. So I guess it's better late than never.
It is very much inspired by the saloons of the wild west and their iconic Honky-Tonk, Ragtime pianos and Pianolas. I could (and have) spend hours watching videos of saloon pianos and pianolas being played, unfortunately the game doesn't have an appropriate upright piano so you'll have to settle for the grand piano I've procured instead.

Lot Info:

The lot was built on a 30 by 30 lot in the gorgeous world of Wild Wild West, costing 164,822 Simoleons furnished and 95,388 Simoleons unfurnished.
The lot is currently set as a 'Dive Bart' but also lends itself to use as a a Showtime 'Venue' as well as a 'Hangout' and 'Java Hut' too, if you swap out the bar in the hotel side for a University Life coffee shop.
The lot has been thoroughly play-tested during the years it has been in my game, but if you do find any issues then please let me know.

Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Looks nice, but some of the screenshots could be better a little lighter. Some of them were pretty dark, barely could see the furniture!

I have an upright piano in my game that's CC, I think I got it from Around The Sims 3. So they can be found if you're really looking for one!

Thanks so much, this lot is really cool.

I have the same piano. I can't wait to tweak this lot with some of my cc. I love the wild west.

Your Saloon is wonderful!!! I think it benefitted from the time you put into building it. It looks gorgeous, well planned and interesting, apart from quite realistic. Love it! Thank you for sharing it!

I think I have that one too! Although I didn't want to use CC in this particular upload, I'm currently trying to clamp down on my use of CC.

You're welcome! In preparing this upload I realised that there's a honky-tonk pianola-sized hole in my life.
