Concrete Hideaway

This brutalist mansion boasts a bold concrete facade from the front but turns to a glass house at its rear!

Many people pass this striking concrete block each day and question why exactly anyone would want to live in a home with no windows. "Simply mad, I dare say!" cried one passerby as she set her gaze onto the structure. "I mean just look at it! There's nothing to it. It's plain, drab and unsightly! Whoever lives in there is likely a hermit. It's their very own concrete hideaway!" she lamented all whilst storming away in a tizzy. You see, little do many know that this "Concrete Hideaway" is rather that of architectural ingenuity! Little would anyone know that should they set foot within this mansion that it would be unlike anything they've likely seen before...

This structure was erected in the mid fifties to serve one simple purpose - create a home that from the outside would seem unassuming and even uninteresting, however from within would be someone's very own personal oasis with complete privacy all but from the back. Uniquely boasting its very own private central garden pod and striking floor to ceiling windows at the rear. The home was also engineered with entertaining in mind as a large allow gives way to an open dining room and very spacious living room. A private television viewing quarters and study take to the other wing of the main floor.

This secluded retreat continues upstairs all while still giving views to the central garden. Three bedrooms complete with a bathroom upstairs all offer more than enough space for the average family. The master bedroom continues with this home's use of breathtaking glass windows that just let the beauty of natural light shine within. A private backyard and beautiful outdoor gardens are all the cherry on top of this beautiful home. So much for being all boring and bland now, hey!?

Should this edifice not interest you then simply continue on your way very much like how that close-minded woman did before as she scampered on back to her "homely" tract house. Each so perfect yet all the same, so boring and lacking any sense of creativity. She'd probably be one to move into such a community and then complain to no end at how close each house is to one another, how there isn't anything around her but miles upon miles of other look-alike homes, how she must take her car everywhere she needs to go!! The neighbours all look the same, they all act the same. All so perfect, all so peachy! You can't get a good nights sleep because you can hear your own neighbour flush their toilet next door as only two feet of space separates your homes!! The madness never ends!! Buy this home now and save yourself from normality, save yourself now I proclaim!!

Very interesting building! And you subtly used the original games' items, without the least CC, and it really looks 50's! Well, well done! Thanks for sharing! Cheers!

Nice example of "bunker architecture", Metamorp. Thanks for sharing, can't wait to furnish this one in 50's retro!
