Yeah, because an 18th century pirate would wear 2000s emo bangs and lipstick, and would totally live 'till 81 birthday, without being killed in combat, shot, marooned, starved, shipwrecked, drowned, died of scurvy or other diseases (including STDs like typhus or siphilis), or captured and hung. Pirates lived a very dangerous life, mostly at sea, on a wooden overcrowded ship. Also, 1750s to 1800s was the twilight of the Golden Age of Piracy, since it became less prosperous and more dangerous. Just sayin'.
