Can this make one of my sims a babysitter so that when I switch to another family and call for a babysitter, I can hire my other sim who is a babysitter to take care of my current family's child? I initially thought that only NPC's can be babysitters. Thanks.

If you have the NRaas mods, one of them you can use to set a Sim to a service. I think MasterController will do it, or StoryProgression.
