Thank you, this will surely help my game run faster and there is not a whole lot of Mac help for the Sims 4 game.

I appreciate that there is finally something created for Mac users, but I am confused. The instructions say to drag the file onto the app in the dock. What file am I dragging exactly?

Can you send me an invite, this one is invalid? I'm @sosuanne if you want to DM me on Discord. Thanks for doing this BTW.

Sorry for the late reply!!! You drag the file from which you're removing characters from the file name.

For example:

You download a mod named "Sims_Mod_V3" and you want to remove the "_" characters. Drag that file from your Downloads folder on the Dock (or the Desktop or the Finder - wherever you access your Downloads folder) to the Remove Characters App on your Dock. I keep my Downloads folder pinned to my Dock and use the Fan view option. I click on the Downloads folder and then drag whichever file I need right on top of the Remove Characters App icon.

I hope this explanation helps!

I honestly don't know if this automator had anything to do with it (which is why I'm keeping it a "thanks" post, because it did in fact remove the special characters) but I used the automator, and then merged my files with S4S. Unfortunately I didn't make backups of them before removing the special characters, because now a good majority of my CC is broken. Luckily I recently switched from an ancient 12 year old Windows based laptop to a 6 year old MacBook Air, so I did in fact have sort of a back-up of the CC from the Windows laptop. When I switched back to the unmerged, post character removal mod files, they were still broken. So I have no idea what happened to my CC honestly, but the character remover definitely removed the characters, lol.

Have you noticed any difference? I don't see how special character such as a _ and - and a space could cause any problems in this day. Maybe a while back with Leopard or something. I tried looking this up with no info quickly so I decided to find out if it made any difference from you. Thanks.
