Working for The Sims 3 v1.69 (Latest version)

Description

Deep Conversations for The Sims 3 gives you some insight on what your Sims are talking about and often lets you choose what your Sim will say, which may affect their relationship positively or negatively. There are also some surprising things that may happen! Start talking to your neighbors right now and get to know them on a deeper level!

Features

Improved Get to Know - The Get to Know interaction now has a completely new functionality! Your neighbors will let you know of everything that's going on with their lives. They will recite their entire biography in first-person so that it realistically looks like they're talking about themselves.

Choose what to say - Interactive dialogs will often pop-up where you can choose what your Sim will say given the circumstances. These will give different and surprising results depending on your choice.

Meaningful conversations - Conversations will last and be remembered of as your Sims will get different moodlets depending on what you said or on the general topic of the conversation.

Adaptive conversations - The current conversation topic, dialogs and results will change depending on the tone of your interactions. Friendly, funny, mean, and romantic interactions all have different, unique, and procedually generated dialogs.

I have a feeling if this is ever updated it may need a patch since children start talking about going on dates occasionally while in conversation and that's just really creepy to witness. Otherwise it's pretty fun to see the moodlets that can crop up

Sorry, but I cannot recommend the mod in this stage. The idea is great, but the execution ruined my save file.

My family was at the dinner table. A Deep Conversations dialogue popped up, prompting the mother to complain about "poor people not having anything this good to eat in Strangerville". So far so good. Her daughter disagreed and argued. First of all, the answer options did not make any real sense; the answers were like "Ignore", "*burp*" or "Talk about relationships", which have nothing to do with the prompt.
And then, in the following dialogue choice, there was a really weird choice about how "fire was not easy to be put out". I thought it was like an analogy or something, but when I chose it, it actually completely randomly set my two sims on fire, causing the mother to die.

This seems more like a poorly thought out troll mod than anything else, in this state.
Might have been some compatibility issues though, as the answer options did not fit the prompt whatsoever. Even then I don't see the point in having a dialogue option that puts Sims on fire at all.

This ruined my save file.

I had a similar experience whilst was using the mod. One of my sims was having a conversation over the phone and something was said about fires being difficult to extinguish, and she too spontaneously burst into flames. Luckily another member of the household did put her out. That seemed the end of the matter, until a couple of sim days later I checked on the sim who was at the other end of the phone and found them in the last stages of burning to death. They must have been on fire all that time, and unfortunately I had saved the game after the offending phone call, so I couldn't save her.

This mod was awesome at first, and I loved it. However, as a few other people are saying, the responses don't make much sense. A Sim could say something about loving the outdoors and the options could be something about minty breath or something about being too scared. (I'm using 1.69 which may mean it's outdated)

I do, however, love the concept, the fact that you can get moodlets from the conversations, and that it acts as if you're talking in person to the other Sim when it's a computer chat, that's super cool.

This is a great mod in theory, but the execution is a bit rough. But honestly, at least you've attempted it and made something that actually functions and adds something to gameplay, which is more than EA has been able to do to this aspect of the game in a long time.

For the moment, the downsides are outweighing the benefits for my personal play style, so I've deleted it from my Mods folder. But if some of the issues get ironed out - such as the interactions and replies not making sense or leading to extreme situations like divorce or spontaneous combustion - I will definitely put it back in my game.

This mod shows so much promise, but TBH the possibility of my sims bursting into flames from a simple conversation is a bit too much for me. If you could add a toned-down version without the extreme repercussions I will absolutely download it.

This mod seemed like such a good idea. But it needs to be updated badly. First off the responses to the questions make NO sense. Second my sim gets pulled into conversations by sims on another lot. I was under the impression that the conversing sims would have to be in the same room and rather than a popup in the upper corner, you'd get a pop up mid screen with an option to respond, like when you're doing an adventure on vacation. The whole idea of this is great, but I would have to say even as old as it is, it is NOT ready for primetime.

The only real problem I've had with this mod is that Sims make friends a little too easily. This also causes them to escalate romantic relationships too quickly. My Sims have gotten marriage proposals more than once. I do love the mod, though. It makes things a bit more interesting. I just wish it could be tweaked a little so that not everyone becomes best friends just by chatting for a few minutes.
