Requirements

Whilst this Neighbourhood only uses base game items, objects and content, it was made with Celebration Stuff installed so that the game would be on a newer update which had more building options, bug fixes and neighbourhood tools available.

That being said, it requires at least 1 expansion/stuff pack newer than or including Open For Business.

However, If you can figure out how to update the base game to a newer version without needing a newer pack to update (perhaps with AnyGame Starter) - I'm positive the hood will work.

This was made with my own custom SC4 template and does not require a camera mod to view the neighbourhood.

If you have the Ultimate Collection, please download "CUTU -Ultimate Collection Version", as for some reason storytelling completely vanishes if the other neighborhood folder is opened with the ultimate collection. Otherwise, if you are using the disk version please use "CUTU - Post OFB Version (DISK)"

Graves don't seem to appear under any circumstances within the ultimate collection version, but the character data for them is still there.

Asheville's Custom Scripting Mod (Optional)

This custom scripting mod was created by Chris Hatch , and discord users homekeys and crosimmer helped me set it up for the neighbourhood. All you need to do is drop this directly into your Downloads folder (documents>EA Games>Sims 2> Downloads)

What this does is add notifications to your game when you open a specific family, much like the maxis pre-made hoods, but after playing each family and saving there's pretty much no point in keeping the mod in your downloads folder anymore so you may as well remove it after that.

No Townie Memory Loss <--- One townie in particular has memories that are crucial to finding out what happened to Molly Wonder, but in a vanilla game their memories are wiped the moment they join the household.

Neighbourhood Description:
Asheville has long since struggled maintaining it's reputation for being a peaceful, suburban town. A murder, a missing teen, aliens even?

But with a new mayor, perhaps some good might finally rise from the ashes of Asheville.

This Neighbourhood was made with the intent of being a nice place for users to make their own custom families who would fit in with the environment, compared to a more dramatic and extreme Neighbourhood like New Arlestown.

This mod also contains custom townies, and is made with clean templates so you won't have to worry about Goopy or the Ottomas creeping into your game.

Nice work i'll give a try, i' just love custom neighbourhood's!

Edit: after the first start the Game immediately crashed in the Neighbourhood view. I have UC. And the Neighbourhood has no Story at all.

so strange, half of people (including me) don't get any crashes

and the other half do

the neighbourhood shows no symptoms of corruption either

Or maybe it’s the lack OF mods??

I only used sim blender and a no townie generator mod but I don’t think removing them makes the hood crash, but maybe.

If he has any “went to university” or “kissed mystery sim” memories then that means the townie mod didn’t work.

Any ideas what I can do to make it work?

Great hood so far, I like it! Also, I know some people were commenting about graves missing, so far I’ve only played the Douglas family, and both the adults have graves in their inventories.

Actually, as I was finishing with that family and back to the hood screen, it crashed.

I have the Ultimate Collection and have played all the families except for Douglas. All is well! Fingers crossed. And there are graves all over the place at the Crepster house.

Follow up: I went in all the Community lots. No crashing, no problems. I have not taken the Sims there yet. That is next. I put the Douglas family on an empty lot. I think it's called "A far away place" (or something like that. I then took all the graves out of their inventories. I noticed one was the tombstone of L & D. Maybe that is the problem? Anyhow, I made that lot a graveyard and named it "Douglas Cemetery'. I took the family out and made it into a community lot. I then moved the Douglas family into a house that I replaced 1 Empire Lane with. The boys are now toddlers and all is well! I hope this is helpful to those who are crashing. If I have any problems, etc. I'll let you know. But, for now (fingers crossed) all is well.

I just got around to actually playing with the hood in depth, and noticed how some sims have unique lifetime wishes (as in not ones with maxing careers or all skills, but with retiring and grandchildren), and I just wanted to ask if these are supposed to work like regular LTWs in that completing them would give the sims permaplat? Because I had Roger and Eve marry, which should have completed his LTW, but he didn't get permaplat - and it actually made him lose aspiration faster because by the next day he went into red for some reason.
Also, are the NPCs custom or are they all random besides Ramses? Just because I took a look at them in SimPE and most of them are named Caryl, and I don't know if this is some sort of inside joke, or my game's name generator being stuck lol

I had trouble getting Roger Crepster to keep his memories when moving in. Squinge's and Syberspunk's mods didn't work for me. The only way that I could get Roger to keep his memories was to use Inge's teleporter to move Roger in as soon as the lot loaded.

Hello. I have Ultimate Collection and I want to report that... there are graves on the Crepster's lot At least in my game.

I think the problem is probably caused by corrupted folders in Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2. Cut and paste your folder in a safe place, run a game and let a program create new folders. Then paste back your game files to Neighborhoods. It may help.

For those that didn't get the Crepster graves to spawn and want to spawn them using the urnstone spawner, here are my very sloppy, hastily written notes about who is buried where. Note that my directional notes assume that the road is on the south part of the lot. Also note that even if your graves don't spawn, they'll still be visible from neighborhood view if you zoom in on the lot, for added precision in placing. Like I said, these notes were written very hastily, and the formatting is inconsistent. I just wanted to get the grave locations out there for anyone who wants the Crepster lot to have it's defining feature. The disc version doesn't appear to have the disappearing graves bug, so I used that one to copy down the locations.

In the gravel next to the telescope on the western side of the lot: Southern grave is Tobias Howard, Northern grave by the bay window is Gertrude Howard

Other side of bay window, from window to back of lot: Darren Wonder, Rupert Wonder, Casey Wonder

Back of house, from dresser on the indoor side of the wall to eastern courtyard: John Suede, Trisha Suede, Lola Starr, Nicolas Starr

Above, skip green patch where no gravel is laid, next to the empty end table

Eastern Courtyard, near the patio with a table and chairs, clockwise starting from bottom:

Western Side, directly east of blue flowers: Jeremy Luck (south), Luna Luck(north)

Northern Side: Alld Crepster(west), Missus Crepster(east)

Eastern Side: Tony Bridges(North), Greta Bridges(South)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: For some reason, removing the UC version from my neighborhoods folder, loading the disc version, loading the Crepster lot, then putting the UC version back in made all the graves appear for me, even without spawning them. That might be easier.

I been into the dive to play this, and came across the crash/frozen problem.

I think I found a way to fix it. You see, others had the frozen problem with loading, which you need to delete the cache files on both the sims main folder and the hoods folder. The crashing I think it's more of texture since I had that issue at first and I just raised the texture memory thing about... like 1000MB
I don't know if this is a real fix, but it's the best way where I'm able to do it.

Though it's funny that it did this after the second time I wanted to play this hood when the first time I was able to play this hood just fine with no issues XD

I dont know why, but the scripted events dont working at all. If im putting it to the download folder or in the Neighborhood folder, doesn't matter, no-thing shows up + by starting first by a family everyone is messed up, all the hair and clothes looking pink, honestly, im giving up, my patience is over. Windows 10 costs my last nerve, really. And i made everything what possible was to make this game better running, really, everything.
