I wrote this mod because i thought it would be amazing if my sims could look more diverse, without me having to edit them manually in CAS. EA's genetic system pass down whole face regions to the child, for example a child either has the nose of the mother OR it has the nose of the father.
RandomGenetics takes the face slider values of both parents and mixes each and every face slider for the child. This adds significantly more diversity to your sims.

How does this mod work?

- Everytime a baby is born in the neighborhood, the mod will randomize the sliders for the newborn
- Click on any sim with two parents and select "Randomize Genetics" to give your sim a new appearence, if you click it there is no going back (except you saved before and load that savegame)
- The offspring needs two parents if this mod should do its work.
- Works with all face sliders (also slider mods)
- The dominance of one parents genes is randomized for each region of the face. Each slider belongs to a specific region.
Regions are like brows, eyes, cheek, nose, mouth, jaw etc. and i plainly adopted these regions from EA.
- The dominance can range from 10% to 90% and is always displayed for the first parent.
- The higher the genetic dominance value is, the more the child will look like its first parent displayed in the notification
- This regional genetic dominance will also be displayed as a notification when a baby is born or when you manually randomize the genetics.
- There is also a noise value calculated for each slider, which is a random number in a certain range, that gets into the calculation for the offsprings slider value. This makes them look even more diverse.
- The noise value will not be displayed
- This noise value can help to prevent genetic decay.
- If the mod is installed correctly you will get a message saying "RandomGenetics started" after loading your savegame.

- RandomGenetics neither change the body sliders for weight, fitness and muscle definition, nor the skin, hair color or eye color.
- Tested with version 1.67.2

How does it look like ingame?

I created a family with two parents and let them have 4 children.
Anna and Vladimir are the parents:

And this is how you randomize the genetics of your sim offspring!


- In this case the mother(Parent 1) has a wide mouth and the father(Parent2) has a small mouth, there is a chance the offspring can get
a slightly wider mouth than the mother if the genetic dominance of the mouth is more than 72 percent and the noise value is high enough.
Or if the genetic dominance of the mouth is lower than 28 percent and the noise value is low enough the offspring can get a smaller mouth than the father.
This wasnt the case in this family, but its possible.

- Example:
mouth width of Parent1 is 500
mouth width of Parent2 is -100
The mouth width value for the offspring will be somewhere between -178 and 578.
So the offsprings slider values will often be in range of their parents slider values.
This randomizing process is done for each and every face sliders!


- You can also repeat the randomizing hundreds and thousands of times until you find the phenotype you always dreamed of.
- The more different the parents look, the more genetic diversity you will find!
