Welcome!

I've created this small career mod initially for myself so I could have some paid archaeologist Sims in my save, but decided to upload and share with the community.

The Historical Society is Hiring!

You may have your Sim(s) join the Archaeology career which consists of four base levels and two branches where one additional level per branch awaits.

For career details, please click the spoiler drop-down menu:

Updates

14 June 2020 - updated to work with the Eco Lifestyle/3 June patch. Sorry it took so long!

Hours & Pay

I structured the work hours and pay to be realistic, but still functional within the world of The Sims 4. I may change them in future updates depending on player feedback.

Technical Chatter

> Working and tested on 6/14/2020 on PC with Patch 1.63.133.1020. I did not create this mod to work with Mac.
> Please Note: this mod is in English only.

Thanks! Though as an Anthropology (Archaeology) student I did have a good chuckle at the field work being paid the same as museum curator XD

Thank you so much! Why didn't they do this for the expansion pack? I almost never send my sims to Selvadorada, because it is pretty boring, and doesn't really feel like a vacation spot. But, if I have a job that utilizes the only activities in that place, it makes much more sense.

Thank you so much for creating this career. I always thought it was strange that they offered an archaeology skill, but no career to go with it. Again thank you!

could you create some small tasks for skill building and promotions including with the archaeology craft table?
id like to make the career semi-active so when my sims go on adventures and bring back artifacts they can use the table along with their career

Thank you so much!
Question, does it work with university? Does this job give bonuses when you get a certain diploma?
EDIT: It doesn't.

Have you played this since the latest Patch earlier this week? It seems to have messed up a lot of the custom careers I had in game and I've had to remove them, I wondered if this one is working, or should I wait for an update? It's a great idea for a career, also surprised it wasn't included already!

Doesn't work after last update. Sims refuse to go to work automatically and manually :/
