This is really beautiful - both the house and the concept. I love old houses, and I love how you created a whole multi-generational family history for this one. If I owned this house in RL, I'd swap the library and dining room because I'm a child of the 1980's, but I can see how your Sims family had the dining room where it is so that dinner guests wouldn't see the kitchen. The 1950's-1960's generation would have been aghast at letting company see pots and pans in the sink! Back in 1898, I'm guessing either the dining area or part of the library/family room area would have been something like a mud room? In any case, I love that you can see how the house grew and changed along with the generations of the family, while still retaining its original charm. You create such lovely and clever houses, CatherineTCJD, and I always look forward to seeing what you come up with next.

Wow! That is a really spectacular comment
Just - Wow! I can't stop smiling :lovestruc ...and my eyes seem to be leaking a bit!

Thank YOU, @kluluplay - not just for liking my build, and taking the time to comment - but for taking the journey with me through this house; imagining the lives who've lived here, and thinking about all that's happened on this property.

There's a bit of room to add garden plots up by the house - herbs maybe, and a few fruit trees. But the major fields for this house would be too large to include on the lot
Either use hood 'deco fields or build a 'business' lot next door that is a farm field with a produce stand. Have fun with it!

Oh, this is beautiful! I love old farmhouses, we have so many locally because our city just sort of... stops. Protected farmland is protected farmland, so you get to go about your city life and see beautiful farmhouses like this one! I really like how you took the time to make a history for the house and mention what the pan is ACTUALLY used for (I can't find the AE key, ha, but you know what I mean) because so many assume it's for holding poached eggs! I can just see the generational changes and little details you put in. It also is very close to how a home would have been laid out - the 1890s are a point of study for me, casually. You can see where things were left the same and where they were changed, or maybe repainted - it's just all so nice. I feel like I could walk into this house IRL and feel the warmth of so much love!

Unintentionally, through the faults (?) of my genetic line, I too, am a student of the 1890's. I'm an only child, of an only child, of an only surviving child (the great war years,) of a long line of pack-rats... So, most of the furniture in my house is from the 1890's - and it has all been well used, let me tell you! I wish my house looked as coordinated as this one does Anyway... I'm glad this farmhouse evokes warmth and love :lovestruc Thank you soooo much for taking the time to leave such a heart-felt comment. I really appreciate it
