EA released a big game update on 11/10/20 and this mod has not been updated yet, so use at your own risk until I get I can do that. Sorry for the inconvenience!

CHRONICALLY ILL
"This sim is chronically ill. Chronic illnesses can't be cured. You just have to learn to live with the symptoms."

This is a trait that simulates life with a chronic illness. It is a reward trait, so it does not take up one of the three personality trait spots. Teens through elders can buy it from the rewards store for 100 points.

Sims with this trait become tired more quickly than other sims. They get random moodlets for pain, feeling sick, and having cognitive dysfunction known as "brainfog." When this happens, logic skill is lowered until the moodlet expires.

They have a chance of having uncomfortable moodlets for overdoing it when engaging in physical activity, having an upset stomach after eating, and having a painful reaction to yoga.

They have two unique socials, and get whims to take naps, sleep it off, and treat sickness with medicine.

SMALL DISCLAIMER
I based this trait off my own experience with having mixed connective tissue disease (an autoimmune condition) and fibromyalgia (a pain disorder). There are many different chronic illnesses and symptoms and I certainly could not encompass them all in one trait. Your experience with chronic illness is likely to be very different than mine, even if we have similar conditions, so this trait may not represent your personal experience.

I did not make the trait as severe as my conditions are, simply because I felt that having disabling levels of chronic illness probably wouldn't be much fun to play. However, if enough people express interest in a "hard mode" I can certainly make a second version that's more severe. If that's something you're interested in, please leave me a comment or send an email to [email protected].

Currently the mod has an English and a French version, translated by Kimikosoma. You only need to download one.

I hope you enjoy this trait. Take care, and happy simming!

I have fibro, chronic fatigue, etc. fairly severe, It may prove therapeutic to have a s/w "self-sim" with some of the same issues.

I hope it helps! I have episodes where I get chronic fatigue, and I really feel for anyone who deals with that full time. People are so dismissive too. "What, so you're just tired?" They don't understand the crushing weight of chronic fatigue. It's awful. Add in chronic pain too, which is exhausting in and of itself. . . ugh. Hideous conditions to have, especially at the same time. I hope you have more good days than bad, and take care!

Very realistic for us FM sufferers alright. I'd like it a proper trait if possible, cause I have a trait extender so I can have more than the usual 3 traits. Is that an option that you could do? Thanks so much for the effort here, though, these are damn accurate!

Thank you! I am excited to try you mod! I love that there are more MODS that represent me. I have EDS, waiting on confirmation of vascular EDS. I see geneticist on December 3. I also have Dysautonomia. So thank you again for creating a mod that I can use to make my sim more like me.

Thank you so much for creating this mod! With EA traits sometimes it's hard to create a realistic life for my Sims and they all live happily ever after.
Also I really like that you added it to a reward store and I am interested in hard mode version as well.

I created a polish translation of this trait for personal use and I saw someone shared their French translation, so I am sharing mine (only the package file). But if you want me to delete it, of course I will.

I'm so excited to have found this mod! I have fibromyalgia, as well as a genetic connective tissue disease (EDS) and a whole laundry list of comorbidities. Thank you so much for this! Now I just need to look for crutches or a wheelchair lol

I'm going to wait a bit to download this since the game is at 1.69 now, but I'm really hoping you're able to update this mod. No worries if not though, I know the struggle

I love this! I can't wait for it to be updated, to add it to my game. I have severe arthritis, in a LOT of my joints. This comes with chronic tiredness syndrom, so this mod will def. be realistic to me. Thank you soo much for adding the yoga-buff, that's so on point and funny :D

Hi there! I really want to use this mod, but it seems that it won't show up in my rewards traits. Is there a special way to equip the trait to my Sim, or is it because the mod needs to be updated? Thanks a bunch!

Dude as someone with Fibromyalgia and EDS I'd probably find adding it to my sim a little too real but I'm happy for the representation and am glad it's out there as an option if I ever change my mind about my escapism lol
