Due to a bug that causes PlantSim status to be dropped entering CAS, I recommend you use Iced Cream's All-in-One Occult Hybrid Stabilizer instead.

What does it do?
When normal Sims eat a Forbidden Fruit, three things happen:
  1. the game checks to see if they're a vampire or alien
  2. if they're not a vampire or alien, the game turns them into a PlantSim by adding a hidden trait
  3. the game adds on a 5-day timer (the moodlet), which removes the PlantSim trait when it runs out

Basically, the moodlet ending is what tells the game to remove the hidden PlantSim trait. The moodlet isn't what makes your Sim a PlantSim, it's what makes your Sim turn back after five days.

This mod stops the moodlet appearing and (optionally) removes the vampire and alien checks.

How do I make a PlantSim?
You can make a PlantSim two ways: using the debug menu (testingcheats true, shift-click on the Sim) or by feeding them a Forbidden Fruit. Both work fine.

How do I get a Forbidden Fruit?
You need to collect Magic Beans and put them the Magic Stump, water it and go through the portal. Magic Beans can be found in rare seed packets, at 1000 simoleons per packet. There are also mods available that allow you to pick it as a reward.

How do I cure a PlantSim and make them normal again?
At the moment, you need to use the cheat console and type "traits.remove_trait trait_PlantSim". I plan to add a cure to the rewards shop later.

Do hybrids work?
Yes, but I recommend All-in-One Occult Hybrid Stabilizer by Iced Cream to get the motives panel to display properly.

I don't like that they change their hair...
I have a mod for that! It's called PlantSims Keep Their Hair (very original, I know).

What scripts does it override?
PlantSim_Plantify TuningID:163439 - other mods that use this script may cause problems.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

This is great! I actually forgot PlantSims were even in TS4 because the time limit made me lose interest directly after their announcement, so this is definitely a must-have.

Out of curiosity, given the time limit has been removed is there still a "cure" method that can de-PlantSimify Sims later on? I'm guessing that manually removing the Trait would be a quick and dirty solution if nothing else, but I wouldn't mind knowing if there's a simpler option.

Hi. At the moment, permanent means permanent, but I'll work on a cure mod.

I recommend Iced Cream's Hybrid Stabilizer mod - one function is that you can cure occult states easily and plantsims are supported.

Firstly, what an elegantly used pun!

Secondly, unless they change PlantSims in a fairly fundamental way, it should just work. I did the absolute bare minimum to make the trait stick - I looked at the outdated mods and they had more points of failure, so to speak. Fingers crossed!

Is it possible to make a mod where plant sims hair is actually leaves like in previous Sims games, rather than just short green hair?

You'd need to make a mesh for the leafy green hair, but if you've done that then it's not too hard to set up.

I've never played a lot of plant sims, partially because in The Sims 2 they skim child and teen stage entirely if born as plant sims, but if I do play them, I definitely want them to stay that way, so thanks for this.

Can someone double check if it's not quite working for the newest patch as of April 28th 2021? Tried to make my Alien into a plantsims but nothing happens. Yes I double checked to make sure I"m using the version that allows Hybrid.

Hey! Thanks for this mod, it’s so good for storytelling! One question though- The timed buff is gone as intended, but when I start my game or exit create a sim, my sim is no longer a plantsim. Is this supposed to happen? Thanks!

I'll have a look... hybrids are quirky and plantsims are implemented strangely.

That's annoying! I thought I'd sorted that out.

I really recommend IcedCream''s mod over mine if you're having issues - a lot of lifestate is covered in that. Might be worth a try.

As a follow up - I can't get it to stop dropping going into CAS. I recommend you look at this mod as an alternative: https://modthesims.info/d/647863/al...stabilizer.html

Apparently, the last updates break the mod. When my sim eat a fruit they transform but has not the plantsim moodlet, and became to normal after a loading.
