OH, as a major fan of playing Spellcasters and an equally big fan of custom spells -- finding that someone had taken on updating this just made my day! Also, just explained why I've had difficulties purchasing from RoM stalls lately. I'm so excited to get this updated version in my game and continue my quest to look for interesting new spells!

Hi Simsonian, is this mod compatible with patch 1.90?

It worked when I tested it earlier today after patching yesterday. All the custom spells showed up, and I was able to learn and use them.

So, yep, should be. Let me know if you notice any problems.

I only use weather and vampire spells from r3m. The spells work fine but I got the Last Exception Error. I cannot figure out what causes LE.

I'm using both of those, as well as a couple of dozen other custom spells (all I could find), and am not getting an LE nor is the Tuning Error Notifier complaining about it.

Are you getting the exception when you use one of those spells? I'm not sure I've tested those spells after the patch, since I don't support them (...not sure anyone is at the moment), just the injector.

The exception error message did not appear during the gameplay. After exiting the game, I found it in the Electronic Arts- The Sims 4 Folder. I tried using the sims 4 last exception assistant site. But it also shows that unknown error. I am just a player and not a modder. Thank you very much for your prompt response. I appreciate it.

I guess the LE error might be relating to "object WhimsTracker not found, due to Patch 1.90 changing Whims to SatisfactionTracker"

Yep, that's a known change (and I had to make it to my Food and Beverages Supplier License mod, already updated here on MTS). But the Spellbook Injector doesn't use it anywhere. To be sure, so that I could be sure, I just checked the source, and no references to WhimsTracker.

It would be due to a mod that provides Reward traits or Whims, probably.

The XML Injector was throwing this error before it was updated the other day. If you're using that, make sure you grabbed the new one from last week:

Thank you for your work! Does this still work with patch 1.91?

I found this when installing Little Ms Sams Improved Practical Spells. So glad to see the needed file is from an active CC creator. Thank you Simsonian Library! Also followed your Tumblr, Twitter & Patreon and Installed your new Spells, too.

Is this mod compatible with the infants update? 14 march 2023?
Does the infant update break the spells for this as well? I am using climatio, which was also created by the original creator of this mod and is no longer updated.

It should be compatible as it has been working for me for the spells I've tested. I haven't tested Climatio, but I wouldn't expect that one in particular to break from this update, since it doesn't target other sims in any way (so age changes are irrelevant).

Thank you for the answer. This is one of the few must have mods for me. Now I can back to playing my modded save after the update.

Sorry if I'm just missing it, but upon what/whom do we get the "search for tomes" interaction? Tried bookcases, other sims, active sim, computer and phone.

**edit: found the option on the bookcases in the magic realm but custom spell tome did not appear. Is it random?

I was able to implement these so far, with more in the pipeline:
  • Earthquake
  • Lightning Strike
  • Knock
  • Turn Undead
Hoping to get them posted this weekend.

Thanlkkk
