I found the trick of those magazine you use. Mostly they do not show the front facade, they do show the most beautiful. They do it all tge time. I installed one of your houses made from those plans and was like what? Is this the enterance? And then I rotated, rotated and found those beautiful facade facing the forest in the back.
So do this house. With beautiful facade is facing the water.
As estate seller, their marketing is flashy. What would they go with once they'll have a customer poking the picture and saying "this is not my house"?

Here in the USA (I can't speak for other places, as I really don't know) a lot of the older "estate" type houses were built facing the water because the water was the main roadway - before cars/roads were built. So, the prettiest "face" of the house is toward the water. Newer houses are built that way out of tradition.

If this were a RL house, it would have a long dock going out into the bay with a proper boathouse at the end, ...and a couple of boats tied up in and around it.
