Mr Mason - Bill, that is - wandered into my office one day, looking for someone to help him decorate the new home he'd purchased for himself and his ten year old daughter, Elise. He explained to me that a year ago, his wife, Ann, had passed away and both he and Elise were ready to move on. He'd already chosen and paid for a new home, and we immediately sat down and made plans for the home.

It became quite evident that Mr Mason knew very little about decorating, as he originally insisted that he have a red couch, though he refused very little red elsewhere in the house. 'My Elise loves purple,' he explained, 'she doesn't like red very much.' I did eventually convince him to purchase the same couch, but in a lovely cream color, which made decorating ever so much easier.

Apart from making sure Elise's room was purple, Mr Mason pretty much allowed free reign on this project, which was nice, as many clients are controlling and don't want to allow me (the designer, that they paid for!) any say.

Amazingly, we were able to stay under budget, which I think made Mr Mason happier than the backyard hammock!




Also, thank you to Phaenoh for the tip on deleting (and then ctrl+z'ing!) walls to make picture taking easier. That was a world of help in these tiny rooms! ;D
