Stacie, Brian and the twins, Hannah and Teresa (aged 9) love the beach. They can't afford to move to the shore, so they'd like to bring the beach to their home. BONUS The twins don't mind sharing a room, BUT they would LOVE to have their own bathroom (their parents would love it too.) *Just so there's no confusion, I mean one full bath for the girls and one full bath for the parents. Each twin does not need their own individual bathroom.
The Johnsons chose to combine sandy-coloured stone and blue siding to create that beachy feel.
The garden, complete with hot tub, hamocks and palm trees is finished off with several tons of sand, creating a fake beach.
Downstairs, the stairs separates the spacing into living and dining areas. Stacie decided to turn the downstairs bathroom into a laundary room (also containing the kitchen sink so they can stack those dirty dishes out of sight when they have friends over and don't have time to wash up) because four people don't really need three bathrooms.
The sofas in the living room maintain the colours of sand and see, sublty hinting the "beach" theme throughout.
The kitchen door leads out into the beachy-garden, and the dining area also serves as home to the family computer.
Upstairs, there are two spacious bedrooms, and, to Hannah and Teresa's delight, two bathrooms. They quickly decorated theirs with their idea of a beach theme - fish!
In the master bedroom, Stacie went for a minimalist look. The place is so light and airy, she sometimes swears she can feel a sea breeze blowing through the room.
Hannah and Teresa love a lot of things: art (they love the fact that they each have their own desk for their projects... ahem homework, mum, totally...), their family (notice the photo of their parent's first date on their noticeboard and their old baby mobile hanging in the window), reading (but bookshelves would take up so much room... seriously, what's wrong with the floor), and their dolls and teddies (not that they'd let you know that; the dolls are only for drawing pictures of, and the teddies and hidden away under the bed.)
♫Cuz I don't have a home in this life, I have to roam. Got nowhere to lay my head, so I'll follow you instead, and set my gaze on the place I'm going to. Til then I'm homeless, but I'll roam with you...♫
