Round 4 - The Miller Family : Joanne and Larry are celebrating their one year anniversary with a new home. They were high school sweethearts. He was captain of the football team, she was a cheerleader. They are still very active and they still like their school colors, red and gold. They don't have a whole lot of money, but they have love. Joanne loves how open-plan downstairs feels, with there also being separate rooms.
The kitchen is small, but doesn't feel it because the archways open it up into the hallway. Best of all (in Joanne's opinion) is the walk in pantry she's always dreamed off, which, due to the two doors into it, also doubles as a mudroom.
As an anniversary present, Larry paid for Joanne to have a professional photoshoot. This one's their favourite, so they decided to hang it in the dining area, which is big enough to entertain, and also contains a bar.
The living room is Larry's favourite room in the house, and he's saving up for a flat screen TV to watch the game on. The living room also contains some work out equipment, as they both like to stay fit. (Or, you know, you can watch the football without getting off the excercise bike...)
Joanne and Larry turned the landing into a little study.
Joanne loves the red carpet in the master bedroom, and styled the rest of the room around it. Their high school banners are given a prominant place on the wall.
Joanne and Larry can't wait to be parents, and so spent a lot of time making sure the nursery was just right for their future son or daughter.
Joanne spent a lot of time deciding what to do with the garden, and she absolutely loves how it turned out. Sure, it's high maintainance, but it's very bright and functional.
