This round, I was deliberating between the Anderson-Millers and the Adams family but in the end I went for the former. This is because I am really not looking forward to decorating in a gothic style so wanted to put it off as long as possible! XD I'd like to start off by saying that this was quite hard! I don't normally decorate in a modern style and it was really hard to stick to the budget. I also struggled more with the garden but I ended up producing something I was reasonably happy with
So the lounge. Very minimalist and decorated in a monotone style with small splashes of colour. This room was probably the one I was least happy with but I just couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with it.
The monotone continues into the kitchen in order to unify that space. There is a lovely breakfast bar available for family dinners. I really liked how the kithcen came out. It definitely feels very modern and sophisticated.
John really wanted a reading nook where he could escape for some peace and quiet and he was really happy with the conversion done on the bright and airy room at the back of the house.
Both bathrooms were decorated the same way but with a shower downstairs and a bathtub upstairs to make bath times with Kelly easier. The splash of red really livens up the decor and the modern geometric furnishings are perfect for John and Dirk.
Moving on upstairs, there is a desk space perfect for Dirk to organise his busy sports career and keep track of everything he has going on.
John and Dirk both really wanted a bedroom where they could relax once Kelly was in bed and so the geometric prints and bold yellow were perfect for them. This is essentially my ideal bedroom so I had lot's of fun doing it!
Without a doubt, Kelly's room was their favourite to decorate. They wanted it to be fun and colourful for her so they moved away from the monotone bases of all the other rooms in the house to achieve that for their perfect little girl! I absolutely love how bright this room is and I think it still feels modern too.
And finally the garden. John and Dirk really wanted to cater to the needs of everyone here so they sectioned off areas. There is a lovely play area for Kelly, a small pool, a gym space for Dirk to train and a nice big space for entertaining too.
Last but not least are the overhead shots.
I found this a real challenge and there are bits I love and bits I am not so happy with but overall I like it so I hope everyone else does too
