Don Lothario and the Art of Woohoo (Preview)
Don Lothario is back at it again, and this time he’s starring as himself in the brand new Broadway play: Don Lothario and the Art of Woohoo. Audiences are taken on a wild journey depicting Lothario’s lavish life of woohoo.
Don Lothario and the Art of Woohoo features Katy Wright, Cheyenne Hall, and Alysha Primley. Three young girls, who are subjected to Lothario’s “artistic” abilities. The play begins at Lothario’s Bridgeport loft where Lothario appears to be getting ready for work; when suddenly, the doorbell rings. At the door awaits one of Lothario’s lovers, Katy Wright. Katy is the CEO and founder of Simstyle, a high-end fashion magazine based in Bridgeport. Katy and Lothario go way back, they have been briefly dating (on and off) since high school, but due to Katy’s success the relationship could never prosper as a result of Katy’s frequent travels. However, in the first scene Katy had just arrived back from a business trip and seems to have been missing Don. Katy barges into Don’s apartment and begins to unclothe Don. Don, being the bachelor he is, doesn’t resist, and well… things happen. After, all is said and done, Don once again gets ready for work, kissing Katy goodbye and leaving Katy at the loft to herself. The scene fades, and the audience is now presented with Don Lothario appearing at his desk working away when his intern, Alysha Primley, approaches him about the status of his proposal. Alysha has been Don’s intern for the past month and tends to be very shy and timid. Although, something about Alysha causes Don to be attracted to her, he’s not entirely sure whether it’s the ginger hair or the glasses… Don tells Alysha not to worry and that the proposal would be done by tomorrow and that they would review the document over dinner. Alysha, at first, denies the offer, but after a bit of awkward stares and flirtatious convincing, Don makes Alysha submit. Alysha exits stage left, and Don continues on with his work with a big ole smirk on his face. After finishing his work, Don heads home after a short day at work to get ready for dinner with Alysha. Shortly after arriving home, Don receives a call from an unknown number asking about his whereabouts. Confused, Don, interrogates the caller but receives nothing but heavy breathing and then a busy tone. Don hangs up the telephone and goes on his way to dinner. In the next scene, Don is walking up to the restaurant ready to go in when he receives yet another anonymous call, it appears to be the same person, so Don threatens to call the police if the person does not stop. Once again, Don receives heavy breathing and then a busy tone.
Inside the restaurant, Alysha anxiously awaits Don’s arrival. After a few moments, Don walks inside and greets Alysha with a kiss on the hand, Alysha blushes. Over dinner, Alysha talks about the documents, and reviews the proposal. Don, on the other hand, seems uninterested, gazing into Alysha’s eyes before belting out “Wow, you have the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen”. Alysha is taken by surprise, and is not entirely sure as to how to reply, but blushes. Don continues to flirt with Alysha, but Alysha begins to grow uncomfortable before excusing herself and heading home. Don, sits at the table broken, and proceeds to the bar. In the midst of getting completely wasted, Don receives another call from the anonymous caller except this time the caller immediately hangs up. Frustrated and let down, Don goes home and calls it a night.
The next morning, Don is woken up by a call from the infamous anonymous caller. Being cranky, and woken up from his sleep Don asks “what the hell do you want with me?” and the caller responds “I want you” before hanging up. Suddenly, Don receives a knock at the door. A bit shaken, Don grabs a bat, conveniently located next to his bed, and goes to answer the door. As Don opens the door he realizes that it’s just Katy. Katy screeches as she thinks she’s about to be hit by the bat and asks Don what’s going on. Don tells Katy about the sketchy calls he’s been receiving. Katy says she has a solution which ends up involving Don doing what he does best, woohoo. After screwing, Katy leaves the apartment, and Don receives another strange call. This time the caller asks Don if he misses them. Don tells the person to plum off, and hangs up. As Don hangs up his doorbell goes off, this time, it’s Alysha and she seems to be drunk and upset. Apparently, her boyfriend broke up with her (Don wasn’t aware of this), and this is when Don realizes why Alysha was not reacting to his attempts. Don takes the chance to comfort Alysha, does a bit of alluring chit chat, and eventually reaches his goal of woohooing with Alysha. The morning after, Alysha wakes up trying to grasp what happened last night when she becomes aware that she slept with her boss. Bewildered and frantic, Alysha throws on some clothes and darts to the door. A few days go by, and Don hears nothing from neither Alysha nor Katy, but after about a week of no strange calls, Don receives yet another. This time, the caller tells Don to open the door. Don cautiously opens the door when suddenly… (You’ll have to watch the play to find out what happens, silly).
