Default Pay Bills
How the heck do you pay the bills in the Sims4 ? I know the bills are in the inventory, but I can figure out how to pay them. Some one help!
I am very disappointed in this game.

Click on the mailbox or the computer. Both ways worked for me. I think thereĀ“s a third option, the phone maybe?

Power is turned off, so computer is not an option, the phone doesn't have pay bill option. the mail box says, nothing has been delivered yet.
Thank you, i appreciate your help tho.

That must be a glitch. I could pay my bills via phone.

Someone else had a game with unpayable bills. They had to abandon the game and play from another save file. It might be interesting to see how long you could have your Sims go without electricity.

There seems to be a bug that gets your bills stuck after you've travelled with the bills in your inventory. No solution as of yet: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/0...k-in-inventory/

I guess the preventative solution would be to not get the mail unless you can afford to pay your bills asap.

I'm having the same problem, but my bills aren't even showing up. All of the adult's inventories don't have any bills, the mailbox tells me nothing's been delivered, the computer and phone also have no bill-related options.

They still have power and water though.... Maybe their bills just haven't come yet. How long does it usually take?? I think it's been at least a sim-week or more in that save.

Also, will there be warnings before they get cut off??

I have exactly the same problem. I also think something's wrong with mailboxes in general, since I've had the mail carrier (even when delivering elements and such like) complain that he can't reach the mailbox but "managed to throw your mail in somehow anyway, hope you can get it" or something like that. This when the mailbox looks to be in a completely unremarkable position with at least one free tile in all directions. When I move the mailbox to a place that the mail carrier doesn't complain about, you guessed it -- then it's my Sim that complains of route failure.

ETA: As for warnings, one time the bills came the next week, with some kind of snippy warning about shutting things off. I didn't get to read the whole thing as I'd already queued up paying the bills at the mailbox, since my household had enough money. Nothing unseemly happened after that.

It has been a sim week all power is off and water! So I moved my sim off the lot and onto a new one. STILL NO POWER OR WATER! And I still can't pay the bills.
I've seen a few posts on this issue from other sites. No PATCH has even been made for this fix.

I hope they fix it soon. It's reminding me to save often and to hold onto the save in case something goes really wonky.

Try using a library computer or a neighbors house. Because, as people have said, you should be able to pay bills via computer, phone, mailbox, or the individual bills in your inventory (if you collected the mail).

The bills comes once a week and I think you have to pay within 48 hours before they turn off the water/ electricity. Don't know if they get an extra warning tho.

There have been reports that when your power/water gets shut off, the power/water will be shut off on community lots and other people's homes too. Why that happens, I don't know. Maybe the EA Utopian Society has Stalker Utilities, shutting down power and water as soon as you go to somewhere that has those things. Just like EA, they really want your monies.

Wow - so...this clearly is some sort of game corruption, but does the corruption follow the Sim family if they move in with another family? Or what happens if the family splits up and moves in with different households?

Better yet, in the future don't get the mail. This is not TS3. You don't need the bills out of the box to pay them. Just click the "Pay Bills" option on the mailbox, when the bills are still in it.

I was one of the first to encounter and report this bug. Unfortunately, there's no sollution for it as of yet; I tried everything (moving one sim out, moving the entire household, merging with another household, moving one sim out of the merged household, etc.) before finally abandoning that save file. I did however manage to circumvent the unpaid bills for about a sim week by merging the active household with the Goths and then "unmerge them", but when new bills arrived, the same bug occured and I decided to give up.

The only "real" problem was how my sims couldn't shower; they could still use the WC (although they couldn't flush), they could eat salad as that requires no stove, and they could use their cell phones/get fun from painting, etc. I could've lived with the bug (although annoying) if the no water/power didn't affect every lot in the world, then I could've showered at the gym.

Ugg! I could see a town being slowly destroyed by Sims that went around it using toilets and not flushing!

Yes the original sim had no pay bill options. But when the new sim move in with her, "she" was able to pay the bills. THE NEW SIM, THAT IS..
