Well, This is nice. I had removed my grunged cc and now the game loads fine. Of course, I don't have the lots I created but I can rebuild the school once we find out what it's going to be. That was easy to make.

Thank you, Phae! DD and I just spent the afternoon getting all the groceries and last minute gifts (ya know, like you do on Christmas Eve...)
Anywho... It's just after 6pm, I'm pooped, she's starving, and now I have a couple of more gifts to wrap. *sigh*
My Library is ready - but, I may not get it posted tonight. We'll see. Thank you for patiently waiting again

I have realised that AndrewGloria has been very quiet recently - does anybody know if he is all right?

Depending on where in the world he is and what (if any) religious affiliation he has, it might still be high holiday season. Orthodox Christmas is in about mid-January (we call it Ukrainian Christmas around here, as there's a large Ukrainian population; but I suspect other Orthodox affiliations like the Greek or Russian churches might also follow the same schedule), so he may still be in the middle of gatherings/etc.

That's the unnerving thing about the online world, isn't it? You never know if somebody is okay and just busy, if they've had an internet outage, or if something's gone wrong in their real-world life.

(EDIT TO ADD)
Okay, so I snooped on his profile page on MTS. (Honestly, I don't normally do this...) The last activity was on the morning of December 29th, European time, so I wouldn't get too worried. Between New Years and the general holiday season, I think this whole weekend was a write-off for most people. It's the evening of the 2nd now over there, so chances are he'll probably drop in again over the next couple of days.

He actually hasn't been with us for longer than that. I didn't want to say anything because that revealed who judges 4/5 were, but he hasn't done any judging for us yet, and hasn't replied to any of my judging emails in about a month now. My guess is that he has just moved on to other things.

Andrew hasn't been posting on the sims 2 chat boards either, but he did say over a month ago that he was busy.

Huh, you're right. I didn't realize how far back I had to hunt to find his last post. Is he the only (active) judge who's been MIA? I know we had Adonis pull out, but I thought we'd had an extra judge with Cait and Andrew both joining in. Either way, I have a sneaking hunch we may have to go out in the final round in flaming balls of gory glory. It's been a great contest, if a bit of a bumpy road.

I missed that, thanks, Jo, him saying he is busy - and thanks for snooping, ForeverCamp (I did not even think about that ) - I am just used to him being very active on this site, and I find it hard to believe that he would just skip judging without informing anyone. I just feel concerned, cannot really explain it.

I am a little concerned as well, since Andrew is I believe in his 70's? I know he isn't a spring chicken.

Okay, now you people are all getting me paranoid. The last post he made on MTS entire was on 10th November (roughly about the same time period as when he came here).

A precursory Google of "Andrew Gloria" (assuming that it's his IRL name) only crops up a 2010 obit for a Gloria Andrew. I am at the end of my knowledge of Internet snooping.

I don't know about 70s unless he was a mature student. He mentioned going to university in the 1980s, which would likely make him more around 50s-60s. My parents are in their late 50s and they were university students in the early 1980s at typical university age.

Andrew is in his late sixties, as far as I know. Look, he is hopefully just busy, but I do find it hard to think that he would drop out as a judge (after offering!) without at least contacting somebody. Of course one does not really know that, but he seemed to have done his part in the past when necessary. That makes me worry a bit more now

When I said he hadn't done any judging, I mispoke. I went through my PMs and found that he did do one round for us. Neither Andrew nor Gloria is part of his gmail address, which he admitted was his real name. I did a quick obit search on that name and was only presented with people who died in 2002. I'm sure he is fine. It's the holiday season and things just get busy.

Speaking of judges, let's do a roll call. Are you guys ready to judge the school shells, or are your holiday activities not quite wrapped up yet?

I am out of internet 16-23rd this month (going to Hawaii) though.

Uh oh! My social bar is low - that's why I posted today.

Late 60's makes sense, I know he is quite a bit older than I am. Being a student isn't any guarantee of age.

I am now back to school paper work, I actually had 2 weeks off where I could have judged but no judging came up. I have to have it in by the 12th. I can certainly nibble on the judging though.

I'm envisioning the poor guy traipsing in here later and reading through this crazy conversation. I've done a similar thing on fanfiction(dot)net... Had real life issues and set aside the writing temporarily, completely forgot the password/email for the account and ending up starting a new one. A reader, upon PMing them to let them know the new pen-name, admitted to thinking I was dead.
