Made an orange cocktail just for you, Cat

I have heard from AndrewGloria - he is fine. His mother (he looks after her and she is 90) was the one who had health issues and gave him a scare - she is back to normal now, and one of his neighbours have died. He feels very guilty for not letting anyone know, but I told him that real life does interfere with Sims

Thanks Justpetro!

Rather than write everything again, I think I'll just quote most of the PM I sent Justpetro last night:

I’m all right! The Grim Reaper hasn’t come for me. He hasn’t even come for my mother who will be 90 later this month. But we did have a bit of a scare in November. She woke up one morning very lethargic and unresponsive, and feeling unwell. After calling the doctor I rang for an ambulance. She wasn’t taken into hospital; the paramedics checked her thoroughly and all they found wrong was a urinary tract infection (U.T.I.), and the doctor gave her antibiotics. But it did give me a fright, and it was the morning when I had intended to judge Phaenoh’s contest. Moreover she continued unwell for a while and needed more attention than usual. My relationship with my mother is good, but sadly it’s not quite as good as that between Andrew and Gloria (who famously have no secrets from each other); my mother doesn’t know anything about me playing The Sims. I think she’d think I was wasting my time, and I used to be quite disparaging about computer games myself before I got hooked on this one! I have to admit there are some things in my game (like some very wild nightclubs) that I couldn’t easily share with my mother. So I couldn’t tell her that I had a sims contest to judge.

But I shouldn’t make excuses. By the time my mother was more or less back to normal, I had missed the deadline for judging the contest, but only by a few days. But that’s when I started acting really stupidly. I was ashamed because I had missed the deadline, and didn’t want to show my face. So instead of coming back to the forum and contacting Phaenoh, I kept away. And the longer I kept away, the harder it was to come back. So I kept putting off. Charity says I’m a procrastinator and she’s right. I feel really ashamed. I feel I’ve let down a lot of people who have been really good friends to me. And I’m hurting myself too, because I really love the MTS Sims 2 forum. Every few days I’ve logged on but I haven’t really read anything. Mainly I think I was just checking that I haven’t been banned. Because I feel I’ve let people, like yourself, down so badly that I fully deserve to be banned. I started playing again and kept wanting to share things on MTS, but was still too ashamed to show my face. Actually I’ve just been playing various lots in all my ‘hoods to get the game ready for installing University. I found I had quite a few to play when I bought University, and now I’m down to only 4: the Curious brothers in Strangetown, Michael Kinnear in New Desconia (my custom island ‘hood), the Moore’s (little Othello and his family, including his dad Scott the shopkeeper) in Veronaville, and the Jacquets in Bluewater (which is a suburb of Veronaville. I should have them finished in the next few days. And then I can think seriously about installing University!

I have missed MTS so much that I just had to post somewhere, especially as there have been several significant anniversaries in my game. 30th November was the 4th anniversary of me starting to play – 4 years since I created Andrew and Gloria in CAS – the first time I started the game. And a couple of days ago, on 3rd January, Andrew and Julian celebrated 4 years going steady. And I’ve still never seen the Grim Reaper! Still ashamed to show my face here on MTS, I posted on my simblr (link here), but it’s not the same as MTS. Not many people know me there. I miss everyone here.

I'll reply to outstanding PMs shortly and see if there's anything else I can do.. I have to go to my neighbour's funeral today.

I do hope I can come back to the forum as a regular poster again. I really have missed it over the last few weeks.

Good to hear from you Andrew, I too was concerned. I understand how it is with parents, my own mother will be 90 this year.

Don't worry about being late, just explain that you had a family emergency that will do. You don't owe us long explanations. Certainly no banning, this is only a game board Andrew and we all have things that crop up. Don't feel bad.

Ditto on what Jo said. Never apologize for dealing with real-life issues first. As awful as it may sound, online dealings should always come second - and if Real World is really kicking your behind and you can't even get on to let people know (whether physically or emotionally... it does happen - it's happened to me!), don't feel bad about coming back after x amount of time (I'm slightly ashamed to say it took approximately a year for me...) and just saying, "Sorry, guys, Real World kicked my behind for a while!"

All that sort of post tells me is that you're human, not a robot, and you're dealing with your life. I'd much rather know that you're taking care of yourself, your family, etc. than have my lots judged on time.

Are all the school shells currently linked?

Uh oh! My social bar is low - that's why I posted today.

I have not submitted a school shell, but a completed run down school because I was away, @Charmful; @Phaenoh, since I went on vacation.

My sister's wedding is on Saturday, so I'm going to be pretty sparse here starting tomorrow till Monday. For those still not posted a school shell, do you think you can have them up before Monday? Judges, if you want to get a jump on stuff, go for it, but I haven't updated the tables yet so you'll have to scroll to find them if you want to get going.

I won't be starting judging until I have this paper work finished, should be by the end of Saturday or Sunday. (that would be Fri-Sat for you)

Default Official Entry - R4 Urban School
Here's my school:

It includes all the necessary stuffeths:
Lobby, main office with secretary area and 2 private offices, nurse's room, music room, art room, gym, library, and restrooms on each floor. The two upper floors are identical; each with 8 class rooms. There are two staircases and an elevator, a fenced playground (soccer pitch) and paved play area. Outside the fence is parking for 8+.

I ran out of time to grunge-it-up more - but, this IS just supposed to be an empty shell, right? LOL!

@Phaenoh remind me, what are we supposed to be judging now? It's been so long I don't know what I should be looking at.

I think the following are still outstanding:
- Round 3 Reno (Warehouse)
- Round 4 Shell (School)

Thanks Camp. What the contest is up to and what I am up to may be two different things. I have short term memory issues and this coming and going has me in all kinds of confusion

Phae have I finished warehouse judging? I have a feeling that I have. We may have already had this conversation lol. I have scores and comments down but I am not sure if I still have some more to do. Wondering about Kansen, PanAm, Porkypine and Simfreg. I think I may be up to the Victorian which I also have some judging done on. If the far left side could be updated with who has passed and links to buildings this would help me enormously.

Default Hope this helps!
AFAIK, Kanzen and simsfreq have officially dropped out as of Round 3. PanAm103 skipped the Round 4 shell.

Also, I made an oopsy. Round 3 was the Victorian, not the warehouse. If it helps, I dug around and I think I now have all currently submitted entries for the outstanding rounds (I have a feeling the Round 2 Reno judging wasn't complete either, but I gotta go to bed... There's only three entries for that one and they're linked on the front table...)

Links to Round 3 (Victorian) and Round 4 (School) - all entries not currently listed on the front page table

ForeverCamp Loch Namara Public Library | Elizabeth Regina School linked in front table
Justpetro The Queen's Library | Simwhere School linked in front table

I meant linked to on the judging sheet. We have a list of everyone name with a yes or no beside it and a link that should take us to the correct shell. I find this sheet a bit hard to follow if I have completed sections or not because those names I mentioned are showing up with a yes but that yes may just be for the first round not the second if it hasn't been updated.

Thanks for the links to the others.

Forever, thank you for making that link list. I used it to update the front table.
Everyone, if anything is missing from the front table, let me know.
I have school shell entries from Cat, Forever, Petro, and Porky. If you have a school shell entry that Forever and I missed, speak up!

Judges, @Charmful, @joandsarah77, and @caitawesome, your spreadsheets have been updated. Please begin judging the SCHOOL SHELLS.
joandsarah77, your spreadsheet has errors on the warehouse reno columns, please see it (highlighted in orange) and fix it asap (before schools). I left was was there in case they were supposed to be in different columns so you won't have to rewrite anything.

Let's get this thing back on track y'all! Once school shell judging is in, I'll reveal the last reno!

@Phaenoh It's been too long for me to recall, what is supposed to be where those orange sections are?

Those orange sections have errors. Either they aren't supposed to be judged and they are, or they are supposed to be judged and they aren't. I don't know what you were judging for those, maybe they were improperly copied over from the church round?

I think I was judging on the warehouse remade over. I think I might have to start again as I have no clue. Only I am supposed to be reading the moderators handbook now. How soon does this have to be done?

Well, its not like this contest is really cruising at breakneck pace , but it is holding up the warehouse reno scores being posted. We don't need comments asap, just numbers. Could you have them in a day or two?

Since I am out next week, can I start judging the R3 Renos? Are we waiting on anymore? It looks like most are linked to the table and I can use that.

I think I have figured out my judging sheet and what I did wrong. Also I learnt something new, I learnt that a concession stand isn't a place to cash in coupons but a place to buy food! Why is it called a concession stand in the US? Thanks Google, because I would not have had a clue as to what that was.
