This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Ultimate Collection: How To Use Hack Conflict Detection Utility
Just as the title says, I want to use the HCDU in the UC but it won't follow the right path so it says there is no Sims 2 directory to be found. Hope that made sense. Thank you for your help!

You must make a folder called "The Sims 2" without the quotes in the same folder that UC is in and copy your UC downloads folder into it and now HCDU will check them out for you.

At this time this is the only workaround for the HCDU.

It should look like this. C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2

I would just like to add that the only way I got mine to work was to copy The Sims 2 with the TM from the beginning of UC in order to get this to work for me. I am using Windows 7 64 bit.

So did it look like blah blah/My Documents/EA Games/The Sims (TM) 2 Ultimate Collection/Downloads/The Sims 2?

No it should look like this blah blah/My Documents/EA Games/The Sims (TM) 2 /Downloads.

Mind work without the (TM) but some say you need it.

Apologies for the thread necro, but you can do this without copying the files, by making a symbolic link.

From the Start menu, locate "Command Prompt", right-click on it and select "Run as administrator"
Change directory to ~Documents/EA Games
Enter the following
mklink /D "The Sims 2" "The Simsâ„¢ 2 Ultimate Collection"
the easiest way to get the last bit in double quotes is to type The and then press the tab key to get command prompt to auto-complete it

Edit: Except the forum eats the little single TM character and changes it to â„¢

Just call me William, definitely not Who-Ward

I just copy and paste the name over to notepad, (or from one of my million other documents/sims 2 folders) and then change the name to sims 2 myself, run it, then change the name back
