EDIT: Oh, and the sweat suits for adults that are identical to the elder ones that were moved to athletic wear, are still only in every day and not in athletic wear.
I have literally all EP's and SP's installed up-to-date with the appropriate patches.

Thank you VERY much for this! Maxis has made a disaster of any sort of logic that may have once existed in how things are categorized. I have a small question though... How did you get the wider display for the clothes in CAS?? I recently got a widescreen monitor and CAS is insufferable with the tabs not stretching the width of my screen (as would be rational). |
Same problem...Because the catalog bar in CAS is getting in the way of the actuall sim when I'm making their face and it is starting to piss me off.

I created a new login user on my computer to start fresh (kinda) without reinstalling. It didn't seem to work in the Stuffpack folder, but it worked in Bins (all except my last expansion, Freetime). After quite a bit of cut and paste (and partially out of despiration), I've moved the Freetime package to Downloads.
I'm pretty sure I can avoid hitting the trashcan for these articles... although some are mighty tempting.
now for the 3 or 4 pages of gorilla, ninja, and diver outfits....
Oh.. almost forgot. THANK YOU!
I'll be watching for updates.

By the way it's also obvious that your and my creations shouldn't even be compared, because you'll always be better than me. I'm too modest I know, but what can I do about it? |

I suspect removing some Free Time outfits from Everyday may cause problems with career outfits, based on info here. I believe career outfits MUST be in the everyday category (in addition to any other categories, such as athletic). I installed the great clothing migration, and now my female SimJazzer instructor goes to work in the white pants / pink shirt outfit, as does my female backup dancer. A few months ago, when I had an earlier version of the migration, my female concert pianist had the same issue. There may be other career outfits missing, but I don't hae male and female sims in all careers, so don't know. I should see if there's a quick way to test career outfits. Meanwhile, I'm going to uninstall the migration and see if that fixes it or not...
update
I fixed the problem by editing the Free Time migration file. Put these in both Everyday and Athletic, and they showed up properly again when going to work, indicating that career outfits do indeed have to be in Everyday.

I think there are some others, like male dance outfits, and maybe the concert pianist outfits (probably put in formal, taken out of everyday???), but I don't have a list of them all.
Please either put all moved career outfits back into Everday or make a note in the main thread that they don't show up when going to work and allow someone to upload a fixed version of the affected migration files. Thanks.

I don't play too much, but when I need to quickly set up a sim, I'm terribly annoyed by the Everyday category clogged with a lot of Athleticwear, and by the Outerwear category being almost empty because the non-Seasons outerwear are scattered all over the catalog!
Personally, I installed the mod in the Documents folder (therefore, the Maxis outfits are seen as custom, without the asterisk but deletable) because every package included in the game installation folders are used by all the mini-games created with the AGS/BGS, and this is something I don't want when I need a "clean" environment where to test my creations. I'll be careful NOT to delete any outfit from the catalog

I find I tend to be mildly mediocre at almost everything. As far as I can tell, you are just starting out, so if you really want to compare yourself to someone, pick someone who has been working at learning roughly the same amount of time that you have been. (But don't pick me, I've been told my learning curve is a bit steep, I made my very first creation last June!) |
Wojtek2008, you can compare to me and I'm sure you'll feel a lot better. I started on mid March 2008 and I don't think I'm stepping any forward. Especially at objects, I definitely suck big time .
Anyway, thanks Phaenoh for this I definitely too lazy to make this myself so BIG props to you Thanks a lot And right into my downloads folder it goes.....

I was reporting a bug and suggesting two possible courses of action. A bug report is not criticism or meanness, it's just a bug report. I thought "please" and "thanks" conveyed my intended tone.
<-- emoticon added to make tone clear
I know finding all the career outfits will be a long and tedious process. If you don't have the time, which no one would blame you for, why not let someone else do it? If you wouldn't want modifications of your files uploaded, you could ask for lists of outfits and change your files when someone else compiles the lists. I was going to offer to do that, just haven't figured out yet how to translate outfit GUIDs from career outfit lists to instance numbers of GZPS which are found in your migration files. The two outfits listed in my previous post are the only ones I'm currently certain of and have tested the fix for. I notice now that there is a note about this issue, thank you for putting that up. You might get lots more people looking for affected outfits, less work all around. If the note was there before and I didn't notice, my mistake, bad Cat, no biscuit.
Also, I've been pondering the possibility of making TWO outfits, one just athletic, for everyone, including townies, and one just everyday, for careers? Or just ONE outfit, both athletic and everyday, but somehow made not available to townies? But if it's the latter, will friends from work then show up in correct work outfits or not? Not trying to add more work to your pile here, just sharing some thoughts I had about this.

I don't really want anyone else uploading a 'fixed' version of my work, thats really my job to do and until I give up creating I intend to do it. I will get to it because I don't like letting work that I KNOW needs updating sit. I've got a couple of things already on my To Do list and when I get a day free they will all get fixed.

I usually have my protege CarmeeKitty do that sort of testing for me, but as I hadn't had the time to help her with it (currently I'm helping my family with my sister's HS graduation) we hadn't started that project yet.

Have you also put the formal wear career outfits for the concert pianist in the Music career into formal and everyday? Those weren't in Free Time. The one I remember is the long red hug dress for the female concert pianist, but male concert pianists had some formal wear too. Not rushing you, I know its a lot of stuff.
