Possible Error?
Not sure if this is a mistake or not, but about the woman's hooded jumper moved from every day to athletic wear, well the blue one stayed in the every day and is not showing up in athletic wear but the other colors are showing up in the athletic wear and not in the every day wear. Also, about the men's three jogging suits originally in athletic wear, the blue one still shows up in every day but also in athletic wear while the other two colors only show in athletic wear. Just FYI.

EDIT: Oh, and the sweat suits for adults that are identical to the elder ones that were moved to athletic wear, are still only in every day and not in athletic wear.

I have literally all EP's and SP's installed up-to-date with the appropriate patches.

I have a small question though... How did you get the wider display for the clothes in CAS?? I recently got a widescreen monitor and CAS is insufferable with the tabs not stretching the width of my screen (as would be rational).

Same problem...Because the catalog bar in CAS is getting in the way of the actuall sim when I'm making their face and it is starting to piss me off.

You didn't read my answer to that question, did you? It's a PHOTSHOP trick! I took like 6 screenshots and stuck them all into one picture with my leet shoopin' skillz.

Phaenoh, you are a genius. Especially the FreeTime outfits were driving me nuts. I stuck everything of interest into the Stuffpacks folder and it works beautifully. Thanks again.

I tried this a few days ago with no success, but decided to give it another go after I saw your update.

I created a new login user on my computer to start fresh (kinda) without reinstalling. It didn't seem to work in the Stuffpack folder, but it worked in Bins (all except my last expansion, Freetime). After quite a bit of cut and paste (and partially out of despiration), I've moved the Freetime package to Downloads.

I'm pretty sure I can avoid hitting the trashcan for these articles... although some are mighty tempting.

now for the 3 or 4 pages of gorilla, ninja, and diver outfits....

Oh.. almost forgot. THANK YOU!
I'll be watching for updates.

I don't see why any creator should be compared to another AT ALL. You made maxis furniture usable by recolors, and yes I tend to do that too with my clothing defaults, but each creator does their own thing. I'd never dream about comparing myself to HP or Echo, but I can probably code better than HP and skin better than Echo. Each creator is good at their own things and not so hot at others. I find I tend to be mildly mediocre at almost everything. As far as I can tell, you are just starting out, so if you really want to compare yourself to someone, pick someone who has been working at learning roughly the same amount of time that you have been. (But don't pick me, I've been told my learning curve is a bit steep, I made my very first creation last June!)

Muchos gracias fro bringing some sanity to clothes categorization. Why Maxis couldn't be bothered to do this, I just don't know.

I suspect removing some Free Time outfits from Everyday may cause problems with career outfits, based on info here. I believe career outfits MUST be in the everyday category (in addition to any other categories, such as athletic). I installed the great clothing migration, and now my female SimJazzer instructor goes to work in the white pants / pink shirt outfit, as does my female backup dancer. A few months ago, when I had an earlier version of the migration, my female concert pianist had the same issue. There may be other career outfits missing, but I don't hae male and female sims in all careers, so don't know. I should see if there's a quick way to test career outfits. Meanwhile, I'm going to uninstall the migration and see if that fixes it or not...

update
I fixed the problem by editing the Free Time migration file. Put these in both Everyday and Athletic, and they showed up properly again when going to work, indicating that career outfits do indeed have to be in Everyday.

afbodysporty_grey_orange
afbodytrackdance_body_purple

I think there are some others, like male dance outfits, and maybe the concert pianist outfits (probably put in formal, taken out of everyday???), but I don't have a list of them all.

Please either put all moved career outfits back into Everday or make a note in the main thread that they don't show up when going to work and allow someone to upload a fixed version of the affected migration files. Thanks.

Thanks for the huge re-categorizing work! Great job!!!
I don't play too much, but when I need to quickly set up a sim, I'm terribly annoyed by the Everyday category clogged with a lot of Athleticwear, and by the Outerwear category being almost empty because the non-Seasons outerwear are scattered all over the catalog!

Personally, I installed the mod in the Documents folder (therefore, the Maxis outfits are seen as custom, without the asterisk but deletable) because every package included in the game installation folders are used by all the mini-games created with the AGS/BGS, and this is something I don't want when I need a "clean" environment where to test my creations. I'll be careful NOT to delete any outfit from the catalog

Wojtek2008, you can compare to me and I'm sure you'll feel a lot better. I started on mid March 2008 and I don't think I'm stepping any forward. Especially at objects, I definitely suck big time .

Anyway, thanks Phaenoh for this I definitely too lazy to make this myself so BIG props to you Thanks a lot And right into my downloads folder it goes.....

You aren't supposed to get anything new. MTS2 isn't in the pirating business, you only get the outfits that you paid for and this mod only effect files already in the game. You can use the BaseGame.package and that will change a lot of things for you, but any of the Expansion Pack outfits will not so up unless you buy them, sorry!

Yes, I'm aware of that issue and I plan on updating it. I was (and still am) unaware which outfits are the career outfits and which are just in the wrong category to begin with. Real life has been keeping me busy lately so I haven't had time to take care of things here.

The way I am reading your tone of voice here is a putting me off a bit, I know you are just trying to be helpful so I won't think much of it, but please try to see how things will sound before you say them. I get into trouble for that all the time so I've had to learn it the hard way.

short version: I may be able to help with the lists of career outfits

I was reporting a bug and suggesting two possible courses of action. A bug report is not criticism or meanness, it's just a bug report. I thought "please" and "thanks" conveyed my intended tone.

<-- emoticon added to make tone clear

I know finding all the career outfits will be a long and tedious process. If you don't have the time, which no one would blame you for, why not let someone else do it? If you wouldn't want modifications of your files uploaded, you could ask for lists of outfits and change your files when someone else compiles the lists. I was going to offer to do that, just haven't figured out yet how to translate outfit GUIDs from career outfit lists to instance numbers of GZPS which are found in your migration files. The two outfits listed in my previous post are the only ones I'm currently certain of and have tested the fix for. I notice now that there is a note about this issue, thank you for putting that up. You might get lots more people looking for affected outfits, less work all around. If the note was there before and I didn't notice, my mistake, bad Cat, no biscuit.

Also, I've been pondering the possibility of making TWO outfits, one just athletic, for everyone, including townies, and one just everyday, for careers? Or just ONE outfit, both athletic and everyday, but somehow made not available to townies? But if it's the latter, will friends from work then show up in correct work outfits or not? Not trying to add more work to your pile here, just sharing some thoughts I had about this.

I've been toying with the idea of hiding the actual work outfit in Everyday and then making a clone of it and putting that in Athletic. All I really need are pictures or the CAS name of each of the outfits that are used in the careers. This will help out the people who installed the pulled FT patch, that sounded like it hid some of the outfits. I would essentially be doing the same thing but making another copy of those outfits and making them available in Athletic. This isn't that hard to do, just tedious and a lot of string editing.

I don't really want anyone else uploading a 'fixed' version of my work, thats really my job to do and until I give up creating I intend to do it. I will get to it because I don't like letting work that I KNOW needs updating sit. I've got a couple of things already on my To Do list and when I get a day free they will all get fixed.

The names you posted are exactly what I need. I only need pictures so I can find the names myself in CAS, and it makes it easier for testing if I know which outfits are which. If you put up the pictures on photobucket and sent me the link that would be best. Attaching the photos here isn't the best idea as it makes the page loads a heck of a lot slower. If you could do some of the prep leg work for me then I would be able to get the update done sooner, I'd really appreciate anything you have time for. Thanks.

Though seemingly thorough, I don't think these are completely accurate. I find the best way to see what the game actually uses is use boolprop on the newspaper and send a sim off to each job level and see what they spin into. I haven't run into all the jobs yet so thats why I was unfamiliar with what they wear.

I usually have my protege CarmeeKitty do that sort of testing for me, but as I hadn't had the time to help her with it (currently I'm helping my family with my sister's HS graduation) we hadn't started that project yet.

CarmeeKitty is busy and I don't like giving her these huge testing projects. Remove all of my files, use boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true and right click the newspaper. Adult jobs, each job level, you will have to wait for the carpool to come but if you figure out which jobs are on which days you can check them all out relatively quickly by doing all the monday jobs in order and such, should be easy if you have the Prima guide. The names are in the tooltip in CAS when testingcheats is on so thats pretty easy, snapshots of the outfit will work just as well though. I can find the names easy once I know what I'm looking for. Thanks for your help.

I'm not interested in making those changes but if you want to post up a mover mod for them go right ahead. It is a good idea for those who play military sims.

This is kinda junking up this thread, would you mind if we continued this over email?

Thank you, I'll redownload and check out the changes.

Have you also put the formal wear career outfits for the concert pianist in the Music career into formal and everyday? Those weren't in Free Time. The one I remember is the long red hug dress for the female concert pianist, but male concert pianists had some formal wear too. Not rushing you, I know its a lot of stuff.
