Ooppss I sort of answered this in the wrong thread, so I just cut and pasted what I wrote there into here (my bad - it was late and I was really tried):

Some of the LTWs I've come up with for my game so far: (mainly to do with the badges and owned businesses)

LTW: Become a Fashionista - The sim must own a clothing store, reach rank 10, own a gold sales badge, cashier badge and restock badge. (I also think I have a 'fashion' career too, but that's different) Also you have to makeover X amount of townies before your sim retires.

LTW: Ultimate Sewing Machine - must reach gold badge in sewing and sell those items in a owned business and reach rank 10.

LTW: The Toy Seller/ Flower Power - same thing really. Get a gold badge in making toys/flowers and owning a shop selling them and making sure to reach rank 10.

^^ Same with Robots.

EDIT:

LTW: Ultimate Home Owner - means have your sim give birth to as many sims as possible and have the offsprings live in every home/flat in your neighbourhood....I mean every home and flat (aka apartment)!

No-nothing short of re-engineering the game will do that. All these ideas are not going to show up in the game as actual 'achieved' LTWs, you know-they're simply another way to play the game. The originals can't be changed.

The player is going to be the one who keeps track of the "extra" wants.

Meaning that I hadn't been to bed yet.... I was rather sleepy!

Some nice suggestions, everyone! :-) Shall update the master list now :-) Thank you for that link, FranH, that looks potentially very useful indeed!

It is possible to max the LTA meter (it came with Freetime), and the Sim will get actually get a memory for maxing it. If the LTA meter is maxed, it will make the Sim permaplat regardless of if they filled their LTW unless the player has a mod to stop it.

In the pic above, the LTA meter is next to the Sim's Aspiration Meter. Miranda's isn't very full since I just moved her family into a house.

Reputation came with Apartment Life and it is also possible to max that also.

Sims in neighborhoods other than Belladona Cove start with their Reputation meter in the middle (where Miranda's is), and then based on how they interact with other Sims it goes up or down. In Veronaville Tybalt Capp's tends to drop because of his tendency to fight. Miranda's tends to be in the positive because she has more nice points than her cousin. (8 points versus 2).

Other than maxing the LTA meter, the LTW's mentioned in this thread won't give a new memory or fill LTW, but the player can keep track of if they filled it or not and can use them to explore other aspects of the game if they want.

One of my favorite LTW's in Sims 3 Decedent of DaVinci where the Sim maxes the sculpting, invention and painting skills. In Sims 2 a equivalent could be maxing the creativity skill, getting a gold robot making badge and maxing the mechanical skill.

I thought of another one:

55. Surrounded By Family - Have X living relatives (by blood or adoption) and be friends with them all.

And I'm going through the list of TS3 LTW's on Carl's Sims 3 Guide and adapting some of them for TS2. So far I have:

56. Master Artist - Have a gallery with X pieces of art that you've created. Can include paintings, photographs (with the UNI camera?) and sculptures.
57. Gold Digger - see the ghost of a rich dead spouse. Marry a rich sim (and get the Married A Rich Sim memory) and then see their ghost after they've died.
58. Professional Author - publish X novels (or X books, including novels and restaurant guides).
59. Jack Of All Trades - Reach level 5 in X career tracks.
60. Graduate Extraordinaire - Earn A PhD (this one only really works if you play your game with more education levels than the normal EA game - earning a normal degree just isn't as impressive!).
61. Master Romancer - Woohoo with X sims in X different places (places include bed, hot tub, hammock (BV), photobooth (NL), car (NL), walk-in closet (AL) and sofa if you use ACR).
62. Property Mogul - own X community lots and X vacation homes.
63. Surrounded By Family #2 - Raise X babies from infant to teen (or adult).
64. Swimming In Cash - Have $X simoleans on hand (i.e. in household funds).
http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=464697
65. The Animal Resucer - Adopt X strays.
66. The Ark Builder - Have X each of dogs, cats, parrots, womrats and aquariums (if you use custom animals, like Bienchen83's lizards and rodents you could include them too).

I'm planning to make an elder "Presidential" career path, with job levels of "Primary Candidate," "General Election Candidate," and "President of the United States of Imagination." The pay at each level will be awesome. Each chance card will have a very high probability of the Sim getting fired up until they reach President, where there either won't be chance cards or their chances of being fired will be very low (since how many POTUSes have actually been impeached). Entry level will require maxed out charisma and high logic & creativity. The President represents most states of the imaginary world (from GTA to Animal Crossing), although other nations exist (Red City, for example, is part of the Union of Fictional Socialist Republics (UFSR)).

Now if there were only a way to make a LTW to go with this career path....

If you made it as a default replacement of one of the Maxis careers there kind of would be, but I don't think there's another way of doing it....

Except I want it as an elder career path rather than an adult career path, and all of the career-related LTWs, as far as I know, are for adult career paths.

That's true. I think it would be possible to make an elder career that overwrote an adult career, though I'm not entirely sure about that. And it does mean you'd lose one of the in-game careers.

So these Sims will have a game-generated LTW as well as the player-given custom one? Still I suppose it's unlikely that the game-generated one will be fulfilled by chance while you're trying to fulfil the custom one. When that is fulfilled, do you manually make them permaplat and give them extra aspiration and influence points using SimPE or something?

I must say I'm not very happy with the limited selection of LTWs available to me in the game. My romance Sims only seem to be able to get the three career-related ones of Celebrity Chef, Hall of Famer or Professional Party Guest. I reckon I know Jack Gill better than Maxis does, and I know he doesn't want any of these. He's still a teen, and he recently got a memory of having "earned" 10,000 Simoloeons, nearly all of that from his money trees, so he just doesn't see the need to work at all. I tried to use the batbox to change his LTW to "Have 20 Simultaneous Lovers", but, although I kept cycling through them and rerolling them, I could only get the 3 career options. I wonder if it's because I don't have university, or whether I should just keep on trying. But, if I can't get the game to give him a better LTW, I might just keep a manual tally like these "custom" ones. Since Jack styles himself as "every [gay] boy's dream date", the "have 50 dream dates" LTW might suit him too, but that's only for Pleasure Sims. Surely it's just as suitable for Romance ones!

I've got another (adult) romance Sim doing well in the politics career, and, if he makes it to Mayor, I think I'll just make him permaplat, rather than start him off again at the bottom of the culinary career, so he can eventually become a celebrity chef.

Similarly I could give permaplat to Sims who make it to the top of my custom careers. And I must do something about gentle helpful Julian Moltke, who supposedly wants to be a master criminal (with both his doting parents in the police!)

Sorry not to add any more custom ones to the list, but I suppose I could add one for every custom career.

Lauratje and Jo, do you tie your custom LTWs to specific aspirations, or do you make them available to any Sim? Personally I think I might be happy with the Maxis ones if they weren't tied to aspirations. Why shouldn't a romance Sim go into politics? (Don't say Bill Clinton!)

Yes, they will have a game-generated LTW as well. I'll make sure my sims with player-created LTW's have a game-generated one they won't achieve accidentally - probbaly by using career ones for them to make sure! When they fulfill the custom one I'll make them permaplat using the Bat Box (I think that's what I use to do it, can't remember now). I hadn't thought about aspiration and influence points - I may add them using SimPE or a mod (if there is one that allows it) or I may just leave them if it's complicated to do!

I think that one came with University. A custom one might work well for him - as you said, I think that the first/dream dates ones work well for Romance sims as well as Pleasure sims, I wish EA had set it up like that....

I think I'll be tying some of them in to aspirations, as well as having a few that are reserved for mean sims (like the ones relating to murder, for example!). Quite a lot of them will be available for two or more (or all) aspirations though, as I don't see them as being linked with aspiration. It does kind of annoy me that the Maxis career ones are linked to aspiration, as their links often don't make sense to me. So I plan to rewrite all of them and choose (or randomize) from a list of player-created aspirations rather than using the in-game system. I need more variety in my game! There is a mod that makes all LTW's available to all sims, regardless of aspiration, but that doesn't make sense to me either - my Family sims have no interest in having 20 lovers, thank you very much! I would link it for you in case you wanted to check it out but I can't find a version that works with your EP's....

The bat box has an option to toggle LTW satisfaction on or off. The player could use the bat box to toggle LTW satisfaction on after the Sim reaches one of the LTWs in this thread, or fill the in-game LTW as well as filing one of the LTWs from the thread.

Just noticed this - must've overlooked it before. I have a slower skilling mod as well, and I think I may make it gain 2 (or 1?) gold badges in crafting and make at least one of each possible item for that craft. It could tie in nicely with my sims' "one hobbies", I reckon. I don't let non-Fae sims make snapdragons, though, so it won't work as well for flower arranging.

Yes they will still come with a LTW. This is not a mod, just a way of playing. I check and change the LTW on the bat box to one I know wont accidentally be fulfilled. Once the sim has completed there LTW as given by me I will use the Bat Box to make permaplat.

Sims often fill the Free Time meter anyway. Yesterday a sim become Chief of Staff in the medical career. That was my LTW for her, but I noticed she was already FT platinum when I went to set it! That feature of FT can be quite annoying. Her actual LTW was something else because even though I had spun it many times on the Bat Box, Chef of staff never showed. I think since I got LTW variety I actually have less variety! http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/s...812b&topic=28.0 I've had the occasional sim only roll 3 LTW on the Bat box and that was it no matter how many times I rolled, it would be those same 3. That mod is supposed to make LTW be tied to personality, but I don't see Denise Jaquet as a stand up comedian! Anyway the plan is once the sim fulfills the LTW you have decided on you then use the Bat Box to set perma platinum. I don't bother with the aspiration points as most of my sims have plenty.

Even randomizing on the Bat Box can still leave a sim with very few options.

I have a few custom careers and sims will have LTW's tied to those as well.

I decide the LTW based on the sims character and who I see them as.

Oh I know about those, they happen all the time. Reversing the reputation meter to zero might be a challenge, but filling it happens all the time without even trying.

I have one:

Become the Grim Reaper: personally bump off X (20) different people during your lifetime, using various means. They don't have to be enemies, necessarily-just people who've crossed your path and you don't like.

I've found the easiest way to lower a sim's reputation meter is to have them start fights. Happens all the time to my cheated-upon sims who go around slapping their straying spouses and spouses' affair-partners. There's something really wrong about that . . .
Change the interests and LTW variety will change the available LTWs, in case you don't know.

How do you change their interests? Is there a mod apart from reading magazines? Or do you do it by boolprop? if so never mind I don't like using Boolprop because I'm weird like that.

I know, but I want to set them exactly. Interests show up in what the sims talk about or hate to talk about. I'd like to be able to set my thief as having a lot of interest in crime, not fashion. maybe most people don't take notice of the speech baubles when their sims talk but I do and things like that bug me a bit.

You can do it very easily in SimPE.

Just go Tools - Neighbourhood - Neighbourhood Browser, open the correct Neighbourhood.

Tools - Neighbourhood - Sim Browser, pick your sim.

Go to plugin view and just above the sim's picture will be several tabs. Interests are under one of those and you can make them as high or low as you want.

I have no idea if there's a mod or not: I always have boolprop on and if I need to just click to raise or lower. Magazines and SimPE are the other ways I know to do it.

Does boolprop work beyond the current game session?

I have a vague memory of someone saying they used Boolprop to change interests and it had reset the next time they loaded the game.

If you turn on debug mode (boolprop testingCheatsEnabled on) in your userStartup.cheat file, you don't have to worry about it turning off.
