I finally got started on my entry! Thought I'd lost it all a moment ago though when the game hung for a while when attempting to exit CASt. Thankfully it recovered... which is unusual.
I'm going for a modern look with this house. I know a lot of others are but I normally suck at them so it's adding to the challenge for me.

I agree!!! I went to the grocery store today and stopped in the little Game Stop next door, just to check out Ambitions. Can't decide about WA. If it is anything like BV, I'll probably pass. The objects were nice for building but I never actually sent my sims anywhere. Then I decided that I had done half of the challenge with base game only and I would finish the second half the same way. Blast my stubborness...hey that should be a trait for sims.

For people who are yet to take their pictures, if you are going to do so in Build Mode and want to get rid of the floor grid then just switch to terrain paint mode and they disappear. Then all you have to do is hide your cursor under the foundation and it's not seen then. Perfect.

I sent my sim once to Egypt and another to China and after that I've never travelled with them again Not my cup of tea but the stuff it adds to the game is nice

Depends what you are looking for. If I had to chose one it would be ambitions as it adds to the current neighbourhood (good for slow pcs) and the items are more 'regular' while WA has more themed stuff. There are a few WS/Ambitions worth getting threads here on the forum

Mmm if I had to choose between the 'stuff' in either Ambitions or World Adventures, I'd choose World Adventures - I think it's a bit more ecclectic.

Here are your scores for Round 1:

The scores were calculated thusly:

Average score each judge gave per category (so, what all judges gave each contestant for Structure was averaged, then Decor, etc.).

Then these averages per category were added together to give the total points for all categories for each contestant.

Then the CC bonus was added, to give your total number of points.

It was left up to each judge to determine how many points to deduct for deviating from the rules and spirit of the contest, such as having too many pics, modifying the lot orientation and foundation, and overhanging areas negating the lot's footprint.

If you did not mention whether or not you used CC, you were assumed to have used the maximum 10 pieces, and were given 1 point for that scoring category. If judges noticed additional uncredited CC when scoring, you could have had the CC bonus reduced. The CC bonus was one number, based on your disclosure of CC used and any we might have noticed afterward.

All of these are rounded up, but the formulas work on the non-rounded versions so you might notice a discrepancy of 1 here and there in the sums - it's not an error, just a rounding display thing. Don't worry too much about it.

Every single entrant has comments from our judges! Some short, some long, not from all judges, but everyone has at least 2 comments. If you would like judge comments please private message me as soon as possible and I will reply with your judge comments.

Please be aware before requesting comments - some of these are not super sugar coated. The judges had to go through 70 entries, looking at all the pics and reading your text. Sometimes they were a little blunt and to the point - it's not intended to be mean or snarky, just bear in mind they had -70 entries- to go through. If you are not willing to hear a little constructive criticism that may not be wrapped up in the neatest little easy-to-swallow package, please do not request judge comments.

Hi HP .. MMm I noticed I was penalised for using CC when I am fairly sure I didn't - well I didn't on purpose and would certainly stand corrected if it was pointed out to me - but as far as I am aware, I didn't use it. Bit confused tbh. Thanks. Editted to add that I did disclose at the top of my entry that I didn't use it.

fairycake89 - That's... a real good question. Looking back at your entry I see that you did mention no CC in the top of your post, and I don't have any note of you using a buttload of it anywhere here so it must have been in error. Many apologies - going through this many entries can kind of make one's brain turn into sludgey grey foam and leak out of one's ears. I have corrected it in the chart.

If anyone else thinks their CC scores are in error, please let me know ASAP - I think Mia138 was the only one that was marked down based on undisclosed CC (custom roof texture) that we noticed in judging.
