LollySims: couldn't agree with you more, TS3 definitely needs more interactions with kids/toddlers/babies, and they need to bring the word nooboo back when talking to their children. Currently I only remember hearing it when my Sims were flirting. I also hope the elders would get something, like knitting, or crafting wood work, or being able to plant roses, or do cross words.

Sure, you can have your Sim carry them to places but there's really no point since there's nothing for them to do but sit around and cry. A stroller would be a nice addition, as well as playground equipment that they can use, a sandbox, and a wading pool, among other things.
A stroller would be great, the one reason I don't like taking my toddlers to the town is that I don't find it being a very enjoyable task, when you constantly have to remember to first pick the child up, before going somewhere. I wish Sims would know they brought their kid with them, and automatically pick them up when I tell them to go somewhere. If for some reason I do have to take a toddler to town, I'll just add a toy into their inventory so they'll have something to do when I'm doing what ever I'm doing in town.

lewisb40: the site is under construction, hope they get it up and running fast, I'm really intrigued.

I did edit some of my community lots to have things for the toddlers and children to do, but would love some type of carrier for the infants. I don't know why, but putting the infants on the ground annoys me. I am excited what this "Generations" would add to the game.

Yeah, Ani. I realized the pages are under construction, just couldn't think of the right words to describe that. Thanks

I always put toddler stuff in my community lots --like potty chairs and a sandbox full of toys so the roddlers have something to do. Still its not enough--I'd like them to have a wading pool and bouncy ride they could play on shaped like a pony or plane.

It is ridiculous that parents forget their toddlers on lots if the player isn't vigilant. IF they can remember to go get their bike why can't they remember to go get their toddler or kid?

I like the idea of sim's knitting or crocheting -- particularly if it culminated into a wearable object at some point -- sweater/scarf/hat/poncho.

A lot of people think EA will be announcing it tomorrow so maybe that's why lewisb40 saw the links up but not yet running.

Why is it the one time I'm away from my computer, all this awesome information comes in?! I'm quite excited for this new EP. Generations, just from what the title suggests, seems to have nothing to do with Weather or Pets. Yay for no pets, but teardrops for no weather. I read a rumor that the EP might be revealed tomorrow, which would go along with the official site reconstruction and the new pages that were added.

I have potty chairs too! I love how the non-active parents will catch their children at the right time to try to potty train them. Even seen some of the non-actives try teaching them to walk on the community lots. Don't know if that's an EA story progression thing or maybe something from Twallans mod.

I remember when those bouncy rides were in the Sims 2 games. Loved the animations of fun the toddlers were having. Since someone used the animations toddlers do when playing in the toilet for a wading pool in Sims 2, I think it would be nice to have a wading pool in Sims 3, sans the toilet playing actions. That was so yucky.

LOL I like how even by the 10 Expansion pack, the system requirements still remain the same. You're defiinitely going to need a stronger computer with the way EA programs their games. Can you even imagine the amount of glitches that would be in the game by the 10th EP? They're still fixing things from the base game with each patch that comes out. Hopefully those are just placeholders IF sales and fan devotion takes EA that far.

LOL, those must be placeholders. No way will the requirements stay the same when a weather EP comes out (assuming it's not in Generations). 10 EPs and SPs would be too high a number as well, EA has to save some ideas for TS4. I guess it could explain why we didn't get trees with OLS though, they could end up making a SP dedicated to outdoor landscaping because there's only so many things they can do with SPs.

I find it strange sim kids can't play hopscotch or jump rope. Those two things were always present in the schoolyard when I was that age so I hope Generations includes them.

It's boring, EPs re-introduce old features already available in TS2.

No real innovative features were released for TS3, I'm so disappointed.

You don't think so? I'd say WA was pretty innovative. Sure, most people didn't like it, but it had never been done previously. In TS1 and 2, destinations were about holidays. In TS3 they are about quests. I'd say that's innovative, even if it's not to most people's tastes.

They had been done previously, just not in the Sims games. So while they were new to the franchise, they were old hat to people who played more than one game genre. And quests were done much better in games that focused on that genre. To me, the quests in WA were rather dull and boring. There were not enough of them and you had to repeat the same ones over and over. This is not the fault of EA..but simply because I have played games with more complex quests and many more of them..and a better reason for going on a quest. Most games that have quests use them as ways to move up levels, gain special items, or gain money. In Sims, you could get a job to do these things, practice skills at home, etc. WA's quests were sort of a side game not really necessary to play the main game.

They might be fun and exciting to some folks but to others they were dry and gave us sort of a 'been there, done that' feeling. They certainly didn't feel innovative.

Mainly I agree. WA does seem like a side game which was ok initially. I love the fabulous Ancient Egypt monuments and artifacts (China and France not as much) and the quests were fun the first time around but their entertainment value diminished with each repetition.
New to Sims franchise but not a new concept or execition so no there was nothing innovative about WA.

In my opinion World Adventures would've been better without loading screens, specific locations (I like the made-up ones in Sims 2 better, even if they were inspired by real locales), and if they had added hotels. It would've been nice to have the option to really just vacation or quest. I enjoy questing more than I thought I would, but sometimes I just want my Sims to have a break, but the vacation spots are sort of boring if you don't quest.

Maybe we'll get proper vacations down the line, after or at the same time as when we get weather since something like a ski resorts would obviously need weather to work properly. Tropical locations would be great as well, and maybe someplace like Vegas with casinos. And I want an option to plan honeymoons too. Since they didn't call "World Adventures" something very vacation-y, I'm holding out hope we'll still get an EP that includes vacations that are actually fun and relaxing for Sims, rather than trips that make them work harder than they do at home. :P

I hate that our towns/cities are all isolated from each other except for WA (loading screens). I'd be okay with having loading screens if it enabled sims to travel to and from places freely. It would put an end to the repitition of plunking down community lots in every city (swap shops/bars/clubs/laundromats/etc).

I want organization folders (I have way too many things in Misc. Decorations), adjustable stairs (make it easy to create T, U, and L stairs), a secret door (with a pass system like a My Door), and a trap door. I've wanted a trap door the entire series. Something I could hide under a rug with a pass system like a My Door, something I can use to actually hide my sim's valuables. I could also have a trapdoor to an attic for storage (World Adventures gives you way too much stuff that I want to keep). Secret doors and trap doors would also make it possible to create bunkers and panic rooms that the neighbors can't just wander into (I hate how the current secret doors remain open after your sims open them once). Also, I'd like to be able to assign "worship" to my chosen item. Currently, my sims all worship the magic gnomes at The Church of the Golden Gnome. Every house has it's own gnome shrine. It should work for any item in the game (even user created items). This would help me fulfill my wish of creating a sim cult.

No, it just means that the webmaster is probably sick of all the traffic on a page that doesn't exist yet. At this point an EP is probably about 90% finished (rough guesstimate), there's no way they would throw away a year's worth time and money spent in development.

Then their highest priority is to promote The Sims Medieval as the unique focus of the Sims fans so they should release the EP4 in June and the announcement should be 2 months before it (April?).

I'm glad to see that EA takes in count players's requests and add them in all the EP.. A lot of things I had requested are in EP or future EP

Another thing I'd really want

-A jewerly station: Why do we have the possibility to collect gems, if there is nothing to do with them except expose them in a room? I'd love to be able to create jewels (necklaces, rings and so on...). Of course we would have a skill linked to the station.. So we could imagine that the quality (and the cost) of the jewel would be linked to the skill's level and to the quality of the gem.

jewels could be offered to friends, so it would give a boost to relationships in the game (and a real boost which would depend of the jewel's quality, not just a few unnoticed points). An annoying point in the game is that relationships are really hard to build and easy to lose. So to have more friends, a necklace made with pink and white diamonds would be a very interesting deal. of course, it would cost money to create the jewel and have a new friend, but we would have the opportunity to spend our sim's money, which is often much more that they really need..

The "must" will be to create a jewelry store, but I think it wpuld be included in a EP like "Open for Business".. So if EA has not intention to create a EP like that, we could imagine that the jewerly would be a rabbit hole. The sim would go to the rabbit hole or to the consignment store to sell his items.

And we would have a new interaction "to give a gift to..."

We could imagine too that we will have a new trait "loves the diamonds", so creating jewels and give them to friends (or be offered one) would give a high positive moddlet.

-A bakery, same thing than the jewerly, at the exception that it would be cakes and pastries.. I request that for a long time and I was a bit disappointed to see the cakes's station for kids, which is not exactly interesting in the game.. this kind of thing would be better for adult..

So selling pastries (at the grocery or at the consignement store) would be allowed and a new trait "gourmet" could be created too..Why not a new LTw "eat 100 pastries in a sim life"

So here are my requests

Well, a jeweler's workshop was in the concept art for Ambitions (can see that in a thread I posted here a few days ago).

I'm playing The Sims 1 right now, and I took a family on vacation. That got me thinking about what'd I like in Sims 3. First of all, I'd love to get the carnival games and prize booth back, I loved those. I would also like to see real vacations, not this World Adventure questing. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy World Adventures, but I'd like to have real vacations where my sims can go camping in the mountains, or stay at a hotel on the beach, and actually have things to do. I very much enjoyed Bon Voyage and what it added to the game, so I'd like to see something like that back. I'd also like to see weather back. The biggest thing with weather in The Sims 2 is it was part of an expansion pack that did add a decent amount, because it also added the gardening aspect to the game. We don't need that this time around because gardening has been in since the base game. So, what I think would work out great would be to have weather in a vacation EP, since they'd go hand in hand.

As for pets, I'd like to see that EP have a bit more than just pets. I think that was part of the reason Pets wasn't so popular and Unleashed was. Pets added pets, and that was really all it added. Unleashed added a lot. You got pets, you got gardening, you got pet shows, you got the entire district of Old Town, you got more things to buy on community lots (namely the candles and masks) you got new NPCs to interact with that had nothing to do with pets. Overall, it really added a lot more to do, even if you never wanted to touch a pet. So, I'm not sure what I'd like EA to add to pets, but some small features in addition to Pets would be nice. Bringing back pet shows from Unleashed and The Sims Pet Stories would be a nice bonus too.

I agree about getting more than just pets. That would be better for marketing too, since some people don't want pets at all, but they might want the "extras" that come in the EP. After watching the Unleashed trailer, I really think farming would be great, if we're getting horses. Cows to milk, chickens to get eggs from, crops, etc. It would be cute for Sims to have a new activity in making scarecrows too. I love scarecrows :lovestruc Maybe once a Sim learned to make a really good one, it could come to life and be really good at farming...new supernatural creature!

I didn't think about farming at all. That would be a good thing to add. Sims already need to buy eggs (do they buy milk? I've not been to the store in ages on that game.) so that'd add to what sims can produce themselves, and it'd be a way of making money, since they could sell those items to the grocery store.

Making scarecrows sounds great, and them coming to life could be cute. I like it. =]
