My personal vote goes to submitting the empty lot, or a lot that contains only Maxis stuff. Your "art" can be definitely expressed in the architecture elements of the lot, and the custom content might confuse people that are going to judge your work.

As a compromise, I suggest you to include ONE example screenshot of the lot furnished with ancient custom stuff, but you should clearly state that it's just an example, and the lot is given with Maxis or no furniture.

I've finally started my Journal. Information only, no questions.

My latest activity: CEP 9.2.0! - AnyGameStarter 2.1.1 (UPD) - Scriptorium v.2.2f - Photo & Plaques hide with walls - Magazine Rack (UPD) - Animated Windows Hack (UPD) - Custom Instrument Hack (UPD) - Drivable Cars Without Nightlife (UPD) - Courtesy Lights (FIX) - Custom Fence-Arches - Painting-TV - Smarter Lights (UPD)

I *DON'T* accept requests, sorry.

Simberr -
1) you can still earn your participation badge, etc, even if the lots are similar
2) variety is good, someone might want 2 whatevers in their game w/o them being identical.

Hey-I saw a couple of downloads in the Contests area already. I thought they would be hidden? Did I misunderstand?

Well, they were going to be. But we ran into some... technical difficulties, and decided there was nothing wrong with letting people see the competition. And another point for clarification - by no Conditionals, we're not giving conditionals for actual content. If your texture is blurry, it'll be rejected. But, if there's something wrong with the information in your post, we'll conditional it, so you don't lose your masterful post

We might look at the hidden thing again in future - but it'd take a lot of codey fiddling to impliment, so, we'll see.

Thanks for the clarification. I just thought I had read something wrong. I am looking forward to seeing all the competition entries, but I really thought there would be more than two by now. Although, there is still two more weeks left to enter.

Do creations have to be based on real ancient civilizations? Or is the main focus on the 'ancient feel'?

Sims is fantasy, so I believe that no one is marking points for authenticity of the ancient content - although you can certainly do some quick web research for inspiration.
