Default Is there any reason why Sims 3 doesn't have a realistic birth mod?
Sims2 has one, and I've heard Sim4 has one, but as far as I can see, Sims 3 does not. I'm sure there has to be a reason for this. Was it impossible for Sims3? Did nobody actually care to do it? Is there actually one on some NSFW forum somewhere and that's why I can't track it down? I've seen plenty of custom poses around the Sims 3 community, so custom animations certainly can't be the problem...

Similar to the sims2 one, lol. Just...laying down during the labor part, rather than standing up.

If that's realistic or not, depends on where you live, and what century you're in. Giving birth in a bed is a fearly new invention, and these days in my country you can give birth almost whatever way you like.

Echoing @volvenom unless there's a medical reason (being attached to monitors, spinal block, etc) women can and do labor in any position now, though usually not wearing pants. In fact, the WHO just released new guidelines about the rights of women while giving birth.

Regardless, the fact that laying down birth mods exist for sims2 and sims4 but not sims3 is rather strange.

Modders make what they find interesting, it just means that no one has found it interestingly enough. On the other hand there maybe a mod out there somewhere. You should probably ask in the WCIF or where can I find forum instead. It's a subforum at the top of this discussion forum.

This explains my brother then. My mum must've been standing up when giving birth to him and dropped him on his head.

No there are no such mod yet. If there was one,I'd have it for sure.
The most realistic pregnancy related one so far is the one that allows you to have an abortion, miscarriage ,couple counselling, help from psychiatrist after losing baby, divorce etc. But that's it.

There aren't a lot of custom animations for TS3 at all. It's my impression that it's not easy to do, or to do it well. I've seen a few custom animations that were pretty bad. In fact I've only seen one really good animator and she had some background that was related (although I don't remember exactly what it was), plus I think she was just naturally talented at it. But unfortunately those animations were all for a sex mod and she quit making them afaik a few years ago.

It must be easier to make animations for TS2 and TS4. Maybe this is why there are a lot of poses for picture taking for TS3. I don't use a pose player though, mainly because I'm more interested in playing the game rather than telling stories with it and taking screenshots. Although I'm not saying I don't take and post screenshots, they're just primarily based on gameplay.

Hello there.....if anyone is still interested in realistic childbirth, let me know. I have a set of real labor birth animations and am presently working on a mod. I Will post here if allowed but due to nudity, I'm not sure. DM me for more information.

These animations are complete with a baby appear where they should. I even have C-section animations!!!!

This sounds like an interesting animation but might be better placed on an adult site if it contains nudity(since rules would not allow that). 5. This is a PG-13 Forum! Do not post, or directly link to, adult content, pornography, or other inappropriate content. This website is open to members ages 13 and up. Content that is inappropriate for 13-year-olds to see should not be posted here. Pictures that show sexual nudity (that is, female nipples, or genitals of either gender) are not allowed. Sim skintones are obviously going to show most of the skintone, and classic art that shows a lot of skin (but not nipples or genitals) is permitted.

dressed and either censored on *these*parts/doll-type body is kind of acceptable or was... (see the custom skin topics). Though I presume that a baby popping from the "right place" would be somewhat disturbing for many, so... maybe spare us the gory details and images If you feel inclined to give some interested simmers such option - just do it. You can host the files anywhere.

I would never think about childbirth as a case of pornography, seems that my mind is not kinky enough for such stuff.

In middle school science they had us watch a video of a woman giving birth, so I'd personally say it's not inappropriate for teenagers. It's just a part of life. Same with breastfeeding and exposed female breasts, none are inherently sexual and people only care because social norms encourage prudishness in a lot of cultures. It's perfectly legal in much of the world for a woman to be outside shirtless too, though social norms don't always follow the legality. Anyway though I can't find it now the Sims 2 version of a more realistic birth was on here before. I'm not into women, but I struggle to see how people would find the birthing process sexy, like even if you're into pain, there's still a baby being born. I've literally never seen childbirth presented nor talked in any sexual way. Media shows it as painful and "the miracle of life," but never sexual. The smexy timez came 9 or so months beforehand

I will say many people would be made uncomfortable having it suddenly pop up without warning though. But that doesn't mean it's inappropriate for teenagers given warning. It's just a biology lesson, that too many teenagers without decent sex ed and access to contraception will get to personally live out, sometimes younger than most people expect...

I don't make the rules I just shine a light on them. There are many natural things that may be inappropriate for the underage and the sensibilities of payment processors: life/death circle of life, fine art containing nudity, etc ad nauseum .. That is why there are alternatives to Mod The Sims for that type of content. However, if you have further concerns regarding the policies of MTS- you should take those up with administrators.

Well yes of course, we have equal standing as non-mods. Neither of us can truly say if this specifically is allowed here, though you're right. I simply was saying that if it is shown in a middle school, that's support for it being fit for 13 year olds. Not that Mod the Sims would specifically allow it. I probably didn't make that distinction clear Of course most payment processors exist and put up whatever limitations they want, and I do forget that advertisers are skittish, even if the context removes any actual sexual element. In fairness the Sims 2 one had the sim retain clothes during the process from what I saw. There also was a mod previously hosted here for 2 that allowed you to cook and eat a baby. It seems to have also been removed, maybe the rules got tightened in the last few years and I missed the change. Or the creator deleted it.

I should note I am also talking about the option to have one with sim's clothing on
