I believe this is accurate, that he thinks that he can do no wrong. I've not really seen anyone share any other side of this whole mess beyond his and Scarlets, which means that people aren't going to be getting the full story and will instead continue to believe that all mods from MTS aren't safe when that just isnt true.

Yeah, that really sucks. I saw a thread on Reddit where they compared MTS to TSR and claimed that it had always been sketchy.

I will keep saying that MTS is safe and all of MTS is not compromised, no matter what these discords tell me. I know better.

I’ve had some time to think it over, and I think one of the possibilities is sabotage. If people’s computers and games are suddenly endangered and TM can use this as an opportunity to ruin MTS’ reputation and make himself look good by providing a very convenient solution…


I mean, I thought TwistedMexi was okay but now I’m not so sure. I don’t know. Maybe I’m overthinking it. Maybe I’m paranoid because of Sims 4 horror stories like some perma-paywall people doxxing their buyers. And then there’s poor Turbodriver who got doxxed because he went on vacation and didn’t put out a mod update fast enough for some impatient a-hole’s liking. :/


I really hate to go there but the Sims 4 community is so ugly sometimes that I have no idea what to expect.

The Sims 4 community has single-handedly killed my love of the game/series. I played the series obsessively going back to The Sims 1, every day and as long as I could get away with on non school nights. But the last few years, I hardly play at all because I'm just so fed up with all the attacks, perma-paywalled mods that EA does nothing about despite it being against their TOS and just general spoiled brat attitude of the Sims 4 community. I know I shouldn't let the community have any effect on my love for the game, but seeing what mods come out and seeing the stories from players is a big part of what kept me interested for so long but alot of the issues discussed here carry over to the rest of the community. Considering all the issues with doxxing especially that have occurred in the Sims 4 community, it wouldn't surprise if there are modders like TwistedMexi who are taking advantage of this to make themselves look better while ruining the reputation of MTS,

This is making me kind of glad that I never really liked Sims 3 or 4 and therefore never moved beyond 2.

To be fair, the Sims 3 community is quite a pleasant one; much like TS1 and TS2 communities, everyone in the TS3 community I've (personally) interacted with online seems quite nice and levelheaded.

The Sims 4 community, however, yeah, there's something inherently wrong with it. (Based on what I've read/heard about it...) I don't want to generalize, so it's important to note that perhaps it's a select few, or a significant segment, that are the loudest and are ruining it for everyone else...

I understand how such matters can make you dislike the series. But may I suggest simply avoiding the community aspects of Sims 4 in that case? Or perhaps Sims 4 all together?

It's not fair on you as a player of the game to not be able to enjoy the game simply because of normies drama, so I'd suggest you find ways to enjoy the game without the community aspects that are ruining it for you. That could be either playing while ignoring the community all together, finding a new community or perhaps switching to a different version to the game (E.g, Sims 1/2 or 3). Either way, I'm sure there is a way you'll be able to enjoy the series again.

TL;DR: Don't let the normies drama ruin your fun, step back and do your own thing.

It's been brought to my attention on one of my ts2 downloads that the file is missing can anyone enlighten to why that would be please? I'd seen that message on Tumblr and thought nothing of it but it seems very weird that a file is missing that I haven't removed myself.

TS2 is/was not affected. The last edit to your upload appears to be by you in 2020. There doesn't appear to be any other user using the same IP address.

That is really odd though, as wayback machine shows that the file was there in January of this year. It's as though the file has been removed from the file server.

Yes I don't get it myself as I've never removed a file, don't have a need to so can't work out how it's disappeared. There's comments with thanks and no mention of missing files in 2022, so clearly I didn't delete it 2 days after uploading in 2020.

Sounds like @Tashiketh needs to check out where the file may have gone. Unsure if it got deleted when the HDs had some issues earlier this year.

Tis fixed now, thanks for the heads up! It was set to invisible (so not deleted) due to the issues we had earlier in the year.

There have been people hating on MTS ever since it was found, for whatever reason or another. Either they don't like that it's moderated, or don't like some peoples content, or don't like specific uploads and blame the site, or whatever other thing is drama worthy today. This site has been around for 20 years, it's not going anywhere.

I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread since I don't think there's much more that can be said that hasn't already been covered
