As to the question of lot shrinking, again the way I envisage using it I would not want anything redrawn to fit the smaller lot, I would want to use it as a trick to manipulate the way the lot was shown on the neighbourhood in situ. The sort of things I am now experimenting with have nothing to do with the "oops I want to extend this house but the lot is too small" scenario you might have had in mind when you wrote it. Far more to do things with the neighbourhood layout that were not previously possible

Thanks for the help CoffeeBear - I got it and will try it out tomorrow.

Too bad about not being able to shrink the lots - I'll have to try Inge's overlapping method instead.

And thanks again Andi for making this!

Hi
Thanks Andi for your work !

I converted the small lots in community lots 1x1 - 2x1 and made a custom icon that show-up in the lot catalog to find them better

The community lots requered OFB, they don't requered FFS.

New download on post #100 . All th sizes compatible with, or without, any EP.

You cannot have a functional residential lot with only one street tile (carpool issue). Business lots DO work.

I've been thinking if I can make them under the base game worrying...

Really big thanks for making and sharing them...

Well I don't mind too much if there is a slight oddness in neighbourhood view, as long as it looks ok while playing the lot. I mean it's still obvious where the road is meant to be, as opposed to when the road was somewhere different altogether after it moved forward

But another problem is:
You cant' replace the lot, because the game adds a street then. So you can't share such lots.

#88 Old 22nd Aug 2006 at 10:34 PM
Well as I say, my main interest in this is to change how the lots are laid out on my neighbourhood. I don't think I would attempt to share one made that unconventionally. Maybe it needs to be an alternative option or even a complete separate tool to make lots where the road doesn't move.

Jordi, exactly how bad will the carpool issues be? Will there just be some minor graphical problems or will the lot crash alltogether?

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

-the length (front/back) of the old size is increased a 2x2 is showed 3x2
-but it works

again thousand of thanks

You know a site allowing re-upload of free build/buy stuff in lots ? Help us to update the list !

MAX3D:

I noticed the same thing (it's not a bug in your game) It's somethign odd with lots that have been binned, any lot. A lot template can be laid right next to an exisitng lot while a lot from the bin has 'issues'. Weird, isn't it?

Thanks for reporting this.
Can you please send me the lot-package where you get the error from the directory "\Neighborhoods\NXXX\Lots\"? (Don't pack it as Sims2Pack in game)
Andi8104 @ arcor.de (delete the blanks)
I'll analyze it, 'cause with this error you get some problems with the portals (teleporters).

All lots are shown with a 'false' size. It's the same as if you use in game the LotInfo.

You have to add 1 (or in lot info 10) for the road.

Some odd and funny issues...

I've started with a 2x1 residential lot (with a sim living in), I've built a small house and placed a driveway. Then, I've expanded the lot across the road, to a 2x3 size (including the road).

I've entered again the lot, and finished building the house across the road: here is a snapshot in neighborhood view.

(The yellow car is a self-moving neighborhood car, while the white one is an owned car, parked in the driveway).

Soon I've noticed that both the pedestrian portals and the car portal (at least for the NPC cars) have been displaced:

Another thing that I've noticed is that now, when I pick the driveway to move it aroud, it automatically turns at 90°, and obviously it is not possible to place it down any more:

I'm aware that the "expand across the road" feature is still at an early stage, and the results can be odd; so, don't consider this as a bug report, but just as an oddity I wanted to share with the other users.

Well, as some requests, I made a new size for community-lots with "custom icon" . These are "really" community lots, not converted from residential, and they are created in the base game so they are compatible with any EP.
Size available: 1x1 - 2x1 - 3x1 - 4x1 -5x1 -6x1

Thanks to Andi for having helped me

Mini community lots horizontal and vertical sizes

Mini residential lots horizontal and vertical sizes
