Default HELP! Is anyone has pljones' "Unprotect"?
I'm trying to make a mod, but my Visual Studio says that definition is protected. I found this thread by searching for information: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?p=3766584

The thread mentions that pljones made an excellent program, but the links they left behind are no longer valid. I really need that program. Can anyone help me?

It is possibly the file on this page: 'Unprotect DLLs with sims3tools "Unprotect"! (Updated 7 Sep 2013)':
http://www.simlogical.com/ContentUp...e/uploads/1689/

All of the old forum downloads for Sims 3 from the Simlogical Den forum are here:

Thank you so much! I have downloaded it, But when I used it, it said "Could not find ildasm installation." What should I do? In fact, I don't know anything about programming.

On the original thread it says that the tool has prerequisites of ILDASM and ILASM- do you have those?
https://modthesims.info/showthread....256#post3810256

Beyond that, I've never used it so I can't be of much help I'm afraid! Maybe someone else who is reading can help?

I'm sorry. I don't know if I have those. I just followed the instructions and dragged all of the game's dll files onto it, and it closed itself. If I double-click on this exe file, it tells me "Could not find ildasm installation."

Can someone help me? Or if there are other ways to leave definition unprotected, please teach me

What version of Visual Studio are you using? I always thought the assember and disassembler were installed with it. It could be that there was an option you didn't tick. Try installing the SDK:
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-...ds/windows-sdk/

Archived versions here:

I installed Windows 10 SDK, version 2004 (10.0.19041.0), but the situation has not changed.

I've noticed that there are some dll files here and I'm not sure if I can use them directly with my mods to solve my problem: https://github.com/Chain-Reaction/N.../Sims3/Compiler

And unfortunately, the download link seems to have stopped working, at least for me.

Chain Reaction is over on the NRaas forums, maybe you could ask there?

You can also use these unprotected dlls from Simlogical http://www.simlogical.com/ContentUp...e/uploads/1686/
They are patch 1.66 but I believe they are practically the same as 1.67/1.69, and I haven't had any issues using them in my projects
