Tyahaha my boyfriend does programming at uni and he was telling me that that's what was happening. I, being the loving girlfriend that I am, assumed he was wrong, and it was just the sims being a true EA product. But now I know he was right. Bugger.

Oh well. At least it's DOING something with story mode, which is better than it not doing anything at all.

Also I discovered that if you're looking through the telescope and your sim sees a meteor fall, you can actually go and collect it. I thought that was pretty cool.

I discovered that when a sim gets bored to death from socialising, they'll fall asleep.

I found out Maxis had nothing to do with the Sims 3

I think this explains why S3 is not what we excepted.

My first sims game was the ps2 Sims Bustin Out! and then I got myself the Sims 2 (AND I LOVED IT)

I bet I'm the last person on earth to discover that! xD

When I took my family to the beach there were ants swarming all over their picnic basket.

I found that if you split the family in edit town mode, at times the relationships will disappear. It sometimes happened to me when I moved a Sim out on his own...I thought it was a bug.

I found out that is you visit the Klepto Cop (Goddard in my game) he will steal everything in your sims inventory.

Sims can teach toddlers to their skills (w/the exception of potty training) on community lots. One of my Sims took her sister to the Little Corsican Bistro, and she began teaching the toddler how to walk right there on the patio.

Thanks for that! I didn't know this and I had had some inventory things go missing sometimes.

Lots don't need to be placed next to roads anymore. If you look in Sunset Valley, the Cerulean Blue Pool has no direct road access. Maybe that's why cars and sims do the dissapearing act whenever they need to drive somewhere.

In places with no direct road access, your sim will run/climb the hills/distances to get to the places. So cars aren't really needed at all in this game, taxis show up instantly and are free.

I discovered that I could create sub-folders in the screenshot folder, so now I put all pictures of an individual family in a folder with their last name. Inside those folders, I make more sub-folders to keep pictures associated with different events or by dates. The launcher still sees the pictures, though I don't know if they would upload to the EA site that way.

It does however make it easier for me to track and upload pictures to places like photobucket. I no longer worry about the big mess of pictures. I just move the pictures of the family or families I was playing into new folders or sub-folders at the end of the day. So I have a folder for the Brokes and another for the Ivanovs and several sub-folders in my Kleptos folder (one for each week). It makes story-telling so much easier.

That you can only swipe/steal so much in one day.

Lol.

Even tho they're kleptos they get wants to return things.

My sim Kaydi had traits klepto and good.
So she'll roll the want to steal something.
After its accomplished she rolls the want to return it.

LMAO!

You can also move your mail box and garbage can anywhere outside.

Is it possible to make a community lot postal office then?

Haven't a clue sorry.
as far as I know you still have to have them on your lot.
I think you can only pick the mail box up and move it build/buy mode.

Tragic Clown is buried in the graveyard, and his ghost stumbles for no reason.

I'll bet he stumbles because he had the clumsy personality trait.

I discovered that while klepto Sims love to steal things, they not only roll wishes to return them but also get a good moodlet for it! Talk about irony, huh?

I discovered that Sunset Valley doesn't have nearly as good selection of items for collecting as does Riverview.

I also discovered that a body of water is a body of water, in that any type of fish can be stocked in any type of water. One of my Sims currently has lobsters swimming with his goldfish and piranha.

Then there's the fact that the Sims you aren't playing go off and leave their infants and toddlers home all by themselves. One of my Sims was going to invite his friend (soon to be wife) to move in with him. He ran into her at the gym so he asked her there. She accepted, then promptly went home and collected her infant and then took the taxi to his lot.

I have also discovered it's better for Sims' moods to live outside than to put them into a house with no wall and floor coverings.

Then there's the whole living in an A-frame house thing. My Legacy family didn't have enough money for a house so I built them a roof. This has led to all kinds of interesting discoveries. For one thing, there is no single edge in that roof space. Shorter items can go back closer to the roof. A Sim may not be able to interact with that item because of their height, but the item can go there. Noise travels through the roof to outside. The adult Sims sleep outside while the youngsters sleep under the roof. If the radio is on inside, it wakes up the Sims sleeping outside. If they try to woohoo outside while one of the youngsters is awake inside the roof, they will shoo the youngster as if he or she was in the same room.

Huge expensive residential lots give a park moodlet to any Sim outside. Toys like the toy box are good for decorating moodlets.

I hope so! I normally don't play Sims with personality traits that I find ethically unacceptable but I decided to give this a shot. Goodness knows I'm suffering enough remorse over their sticky palms for having done so, so I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling guilty here.

This sorta happened to me. All the neighbors did was hang around outside the house when the robber came in.
