Baby Budgies!
We got some budgies recently and I bought a nesting box because I knew one of them was a female and there were two males. My mum bought another budgie to keep the left-out male company. But anyway, Mama Birb laid five eggs, and four have hatched already. You can check it out on my deviantart page here: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin-dacapoWill try to find some pic repository site because I don't know if I can just use my gallery as an image-hosting website... I think someone actually got permabanned for doing that.

One of them has red eyes, which means it'll be either albino, lutino. creamino, lacewing, or fallow. Gonna be so neat to see what they will look like when their feathers grow in.

They are beautiful! I can't wait to see them when they grow up. I know you are excited about them!

Keep up the pictures! I had a double aviary (outside, in southern California) with 80 parakeets. Some "exotics" were in smaller cages for breeding. In the large flights, there were more than enough next boxes, but more than once I had disasters! Some hens never were happy with an empty nest box, but killed babies to steal the nest. Some birds (usually females) were always picking fights. So watch that the other birds are leaving them alone, and have their own boxes (even if they are not a breeding pair), and plenty of perches and separate food and water stations. Don't forget "enrichment" - new toys, food, etc. The hardest thing I had was trying to get them to eat other things besides white millet. One thing they love is FRESH millet! Just throw their "clean up" (scattered seeds) on the ground; it will grow millet that you can hang in the cage while it's still green. Can you tell I miss my birds?
Stand up, speak out. Just not to me..

Awww! Very good tips! Thank you so much, @grammapat and @smorbie1. Here's a couple more pics:
Day 9: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...owing-808582811
Day 10: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...thers-808661323
See how they've grown in just about a week and a half? Pretty amazing!
Edit: Awesome news! Egg #5 is hatching - the final egg is fertile and PEEPING! Will hafta update once the baby hatches :D
'Nother Edit: It's HERE! The baby just hatched: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...tched-808703098
Tiny little guy - eyes are dark too, but I think the new baby and the others will look cute still. Might be handling the two older ones in a week or so. Their eyes are opening and they're starting to preen, and when the pin feathers start growing in, that's a good time to start handling the baby for a few minutes at a time - not too long or it will stress out the chick.
So, more budgie updates tomorrow :D

Thank you! Mama Budgie is not too happy with the attention I'm giving to her babies, I think, but she is a devoted mother. I'm hoping to get some talkers... guess it all depends on personality and such. Some of them will develop extensive vocabularies and say some really off-the-wall stuff - like the late Disco.
Edit:
Day 11: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...thers-808850850 Pin-Feathers are growing on the eldest - hope his feathers are all yellow. My mum wants an all-yellow budgie.
Day 12: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...ether-808971885 Birb Pile! And look how the feathers have grown on those guys... one has dark feathers and I think it'll be blue, and the other looks like it'll be yellow.
Day 13: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...abies-809072389 Look at the down on those babies! Soon I will be able to hold them for a bit :D
Day 14: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...p-Pic-809176880 - Group and https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...e-Ups-809177471 - Close-ups of the eldest babies. I accidentally dropped my phone into the nest box due to the awkward position I had to hold it in, and it tipped over onto a couple babies. They seem alright but I'm going to keep watching them to make sure they weren't hurt

How did you get them to breed? My eleven-year-old has a pair and they just aren't. He's had them for a couple years, so they're definitely adults. They quarrel and scold and kiss and make up and trill and call back and forth with the wild birds outside when the windows are open, but we can't get eggs. We've got the nest box and all. We're sure they're male and female--they have different colored ceres:, his is blue and hers is tan. The male is a blue budgie, called "Little", and the female is a yellow budgie, called "Skittle". Little is a bit of a pet, but not very much, but he'll fix the boy's hair to his liking though he doesn't talk or sit on a finger, and Skittle is a total pain to catch and contain enough to trim her toenails, very wild. My son really hoped for baby budgies, and they just haven't happened.

Impossible to believe how fast they are growing and how quickly their feathers are coming in. I hope they are all okay after their encounter with the phone.

Thank you! The two biggest ones are two weeks old, and the others seem just fine so far. I guess their bodies helped distribute the weight of the smart phone so none got the full brunt of it. Still, I try to be very careful - almost to the point of paranoia - when handling those babies. I don't want to hurt them or touch them with something that would make them sick from germs or chemicals. And yeah... yesterday I forgot I had put on some 1% cortisone cream when I touched a few to see if they were alright. Didn't realize until I washed my hands afterward. As for the big babies, I cleaned my hands before handling them since baby birds can be delicate. Gonna post some more pics today and maybe hold the eldest ones for awhile.

I'm not a budgie expert. They might not be in breeding condition, one or both might be infertile, or they might not be getting enough sunlight or nutrition. Not direct sunlight, but sunlight from being outside, I think. Either that or a fluorescent light bulb. Also give them plenty of cuttle bone. When did you get them, and when you first bought them, were they bar-head babies? Baby budgies have bars on their foreheads and faces.
Anyway, here's Day 15: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...igger-809338831 Gonna handle the eldest two every day, and my mum and I are working on a little play set or play stand for the babies. Gonna be fun!

Day 16: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...thers-809460045 See how much they've grown? Even the smaller ones are getting pin-feathers, and we've been loving on the two eldest ones. My mum's favourite is the yellow one - he might be a lutino! These little guys are growing bigger and bigger every day!

squee! Look at the little wings on the baby next to Big Bird. His wings look fat without any feathers on them. CUTE!
I imagine you have to start handling them early to help with their socialization, don't you? I can't believe how quickly this is all happening and how FAST those babies grow.

@smorbie1 Yup, we're handling the eldest two, and my mum has been loving on the yellow one. And yes, @Emmett_Brown, they do grow fast! They'll still be asking their parents for food for maybe six more weeks I think, though I could be wrong. Might be fostering them during the weaning period at least.
So everyone, here's Day 17: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...dgies-809594857 See how much they've all grown? Pretty awesome!

I was going to put heart emojis, but the window kept running away from me till it went off the screen.
Anyway, look at the yellow/brown one, catching up to Big Birb. Beautiful.

I am dead. Cute overload. I could look at them all day. It looks like the littlest, the tag a long, is getting his pin feathers, too. Can you tell what sex they are yet?

I can't stand it. Look at the two big ones! Are they strong enough to really play, yet? It doesn't look like you're going to have a blue one, does it?
They are beautiful. Do they make cute little chirpy noises?

@smorbie1 Thanks! They make lots of 'Chirrrr' sounds and some squawking. Hope it isn't from stress because I want to get them hand-tamed, but I don't want them to be stressed or scared. We're basically just getting them used to being handled and playing around in their playpen.

Well, today the eldest is three weeks old! Here's some playpen pics: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...pen-1-810071512, https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...pen-2-810071726, https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...pen-3-810071950
And here's a group pic. A lot has changed in just three weeks! I remember looking into the nesting box and seeing one lone, naked little chicken thing, and now we've got five baby birds. Some got a lot of fuzz going on, and the two eldest have lots of feathers! And in just another week, we'll get some more changes :D
