This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time
Default Please help, conflict with software
I installed the clean installer, as i read somewhere that this might help as i was having problems breeding dogs and cats. I disabled i think two or three of the red highlighted items and after that i tried to play the sims to see if it worked but this exact error message came up:

Conflict with Emulation Software detected.

So i tried uninstalling the Clean Installer but the error message still comes up.
Can anyone please help? As i really don't want to uninstall all of my games as i will loose all the families i've created.

Thank you

Well, first of all, Clean Installer really isn't going to help much with that kind of issue. It's not a very good hack detector - it misses a lot - and your problem with breeding could very well be something else. Once you get your game running again, if you're still having issues with breeding dogs and cats, see here: http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?...:Game%20Problem

Also bear in mind that there's a limit to the number of sims and pets you can have on a lot. There's a total of 8 allowed and if you have that or nearly that, you won't be able to get pets pregnant.

Regarding the emulation software issue... that's due to the game detecting something running or installed that is often associated with piracy in some way - disk emulation utilities such as Daemon Tools, Power ISO, etc., or disk burning utilities such as Nero, Alcohol, etc... If you've installed or are now running any new software that would do anything like that, first try shutting it down, and if that doesn't work, try uninstalling it. Clean Installer wouldn't be the problem. It's something else you've got.

Thank you for replying,
The only reason why i used Clean Installer was because i'd read all the information and tips to help breed animals and it just would not work, i remember reading somewhere that the installer might help, which i understand, now, wouldn't really help at all.

I can't possibly imagine what could be causing the emulation software issue, the only new thing i had installed prior to this problem was the clean installer. But will have a think and check what could be causing this problem.

Thanks

I really cannot think what is causing this problem, the only thing i had downloaded and installed recently was the clean installer, before then my sims worked fine.
I really can't think what it is or what to do?

In order to better solve your problem, please go through the following as listed below:
  • General - Do the Game Problem FAQ
You appear to have not gone through our main Game Help:Game Problemwiki FAQ. Please go through and do the steps on this FAQ, including any others that it links to (for example the Game Help:Game Problem-Problem Custom Contentwiki FAQ).

Usually, in the vast majority of cases, actually going through and doing the steps (doing, not just reading) fixes issues - sometimes you may be asked to remove custom content, or to patch - please rest assured that all of our FAQs have been tested by our staff and volunteers and we wouldn't suggest you do something unless it's been known to fix particular issues.
You need to do the FAQ, as was previously explained by HP. Once you have post back -exactly- what you've done so we know where to go from there.

Also.. as for the program conflict have you shut down EVERY program you have running? Anti viruses, internet browsers, chat programs etc? You can use msconfig to help get rid of unnecessary background processes: http://modthesims2.com/showpost.php...45&postcount=21 Just to check you don't have any software like power iso, magic iso, Alcohol 120, daemon tools or any other virtual drive software are running this via some kind of no cd crack?

If you think you've honestly shut down everything possible then try running this program: http://www.download.com/Trend-Micro...4-10227353.html Save the log and post here don't click to fix anything or you'll be reformatting and reinstalling windows

You could post a screenshot of your task manager running processes if you like.

That's one I'd definitely suspect. I've seen Sonic burning products cause problems with the Sims2 before. Also I would make sure you turn off all of the 'junk' on your PC before playing- you'll get a better performance. Like, Flash and Adobe updaters (set them to update when you tell 'em), Logmein (why do you need that running permanently?), Norton (definitely shut down any Symantec/ Norton programs when gaming!) and anything like itunes helper, google desktop, facebook uploaders etc.

You still have a TON of unnecessary processes running. Did you really use msconfig to clean out -everything- in the startup tab and everything minus the windows processes in the services? You can always reenable stuff if you feel like it later but short of guess killing and checking one that's the only other thing that might work.

Also agree with simsample.

I'm going to sound really dumb here but how do i stop sonic solutions interferring with my game? How do i shut down all of those programmes as well (such as flash, facebook uploader etc?) i keep trying to disable my antivirus but it doesn't give me an option to do so.
I did use msconfig but i re-enabled everything again because it didn't help the situation at all the error message still came up so i thought that wasn't causing the problem.
Thank you for your help!

It depends on the program. For the Roxio process, read this:
http://forums.support.roxio.com/lof...php/t12797.html
For the other programs, you'll either have to check the program settings to see if you can find out how to stop it from auto running, or else find out what service/ process they use and disable it in the registry or using MSConfig. A good habit to get into is to familiarise yourself with each program you install to find out exactly what it is doing and how to control it. I won't install anything unless I have a good idea of what it does and whether it runs a service or background task or not. You can also do a google search for each process to find out what to do to disable it- that's how I found the link I gave above.
