@ForeverCamp yours was fine. Even though I would rather rooms be labeled since that makes it easy and quick for me to see if all rooms are present, I could tell from how you set things up what was what.

@Charmful send me some juice or glasses!

Noted for the next round, judges! I will endeavour to label ALL THE ROOMS!

Now to figure out how in the world I'm going to get rid of all those floor overlays in the reno if needed... They do NOT easily delete.

You could change zoning to residential, move a sim in and use the stuck object remover if they are really suborn. Nothing gets past that yellow box. Most things though will remove with move objects + delete or sledge hammer. If I recall the overlays are more about finding the right place to grab, probably somewhere on an edge.

PanAm103, your loading dock is 2 levels tall, but the entrance gate has a roof! How will tall trucks get in and out? As far as the building, I'd knock everything down a level, you don't need the extra level and it seems too tall with it. I'd also remove the top two levels above what I'm guessing is the office area, and put on either a regular roof or a flat roof, the greenhouse thing is weird. Your roof triangles are also very steep, either lower the pitch with the roof too, or remove one triangle and make them all a bit longer. All in all, it's a pretty good start!

@ekrubynaffit I think you might be missing a floor level as I don't see all of your rooms.

Justpetro, your roofline is not doing you any favors. I'd take another stab at that part. The bright red brick is also throwing me, and I'd add way more windows. Your factory reminds me of a large house right now, rather than any sort of commercial workspace.

kanzen, holy cow! 100% loving it! Yours doesn't have the sort of roofline I've been pushing, but then not all factories did, and yours is a great example of the kind that didn't. You must tell us where you got that fab CC, the windows and are the buttress bits separate, or at they part of the windows? Must have!!

@Phaenoh
Aww thank you! I kept trying for a roofs like in the example picture but I haven't found the right look just yet. :C Maybe tomorrow I can manage a less boring roof.

Phae, FYI I've adjusted my scores based on the image updates I have seen from various entries.

Thank you, Phaenoh - I have to add my factory stuff downloads to my game still - roof will change, and wall paper - no problem there. I want to know too high, too short? Sorry

Hurricane Matthew is on his way - if you don't see me for a few days, it's because the power is out. We are about an hour inland from where it's supposed to hit Florida in a few hours (we're S of Orlando, and midway between Melbourne and Tampa - in a rental, with 40 year old windows that are NOT up to current standards, and lots of big old trees that haven't been trimmed in ages...)

3:05 pm - and the rain has started. I just got back from the grocery store, it was picked clean! I expected the water to be scarce - but there was also no bread, tuna, or peanut butter! And the line for the deli counter was longer than the gas line I passed on the way in. They had lots of salad, yogurt and soda - all my daughter's favorites - so I stocked up on those. She thinks Hurricanes are pretty cool right now... *sigh*

Hopefully, I'll be back on-line tomorrow

(Sorry for the double post)

Factory shell and floor plans in the works. Bound to change a lot - I am not quite done with the roofline or the windows and I buggered up the one set of stairs, but I am trying for a more solid start here. The floor plan will probably also change some - what I need to know is - service entry - does that have to lead into a separate room or not?

Thank you

@Phaenoh
I tried making the roofline less boring...
Is there any way to change the color of the roof/ceiling? It looks weird if I grungified it and the ceilings are stark white and clean...
Am I allowed to photoshop that?

@kanzen, there is a way to recolor the ceiling. Go into build mode and there's this little tile icon with an downward arrow - click it and you will go to an 'underview' where you can see the ceiling better and then pick whatever floor tile you want to use to recolor the ceiling and apply it.

I meant the roof's white underbelly itself not the ceiling tiles :C
