Default Pass on next round of Renos
Hi, judges/Phae!

Might be a tad late, I know. I've just looked at my schedule for the next week and I've got a major paper due on the 14th.

If Warehouse Renos have NOT been assigned yet, I'll take a pass. (moot point if I didn't actually get a building permit any way)

If they have been assigned/blueprinted already, then I'll make it work. I'm aiming to overshoot my daily count goal for my NaNoWriMo today so that I have a few open days to work on this paper anyway.

Judge 4, if you would like to comment, please add it to your Notes Section on the spreadsheet, to protect your (and Judge 5's) anonymity.

Campy, we aren't finalized on the Building Permits yet, so I'll put you down for a pass this round.

Thanks, Phae! Judge 4, feel free to pass on the comment and/or mentally tell me to shove it: it's the teacher in me going "Justify justify justify!" I realized just now that it probably sounded accusing/mean in other people's heads... I appreciate both of you coming in the 11th hour to save our beloved contest!!

hello~ sorry I've been absent for so long! I just got hired and I'm tripping all over the place when it comes to government IDs and such other adult requirements. Like pls....when will the education system actually teach students how to file for tax numbers and such before leaving them to the adult world of the unknown??? =)))

Is Phae ok,or dragged elsewhere by real life? I like to build on weekends when I have time and I don't see if my warehouse passed inspection or not. Did I miss a post somewhere? The score she posted was for the churches, not the warehouse.

The warehouse permits are still being determined.

If you click her link, there should be a 'tab 2' at the bottom and that is where the Round 2 Shell Warehouse scores and comments are located

While I am still kinda sick, and busy being pulled in three different directions, joandsarah is also currently ill, so I don't have all of the Building permit stuff yet. I'll extend the rounds accordingly.

I'm back. I was sick over the weekend, blah. Doing school with the kids right now, but I will get onto my judging today. (it's 11.37 am Monday over here)

I thought we were supposed to be judging the Victorian? Are we waiting on inspection?

Glad you are better! Sucks that it ruined your weekend though. I'm just waiting on your building permit list for the warehouse. Church to retail renos is next on the judging docket.

Could you pm me the details? I don't seem to have any. Sorry I don't seem to be a very good judge here. My head is so much into my school paper work I seem to not be noticing what I am doing here.

Eh never mind I found the pm.

Default Round 2 Renovations - A Family Fun Center!
Awesome! The Conservation Committee has granted your factory a stay in demolition provided you can turn it into a revenue generating property! While most of the other factories are transitioning into cookie-cutter nightclubs, your idea to stand out in the crowd and to capture a different market is to turn your factory into a skating rink and family fun center. You need to get busy constructing a skating rink (can either be roller or ice) with fancy disco lights, skate rental/return counter, admission counter, pinball and arcade area, concessions stand and eating area, public restrooms, manager’s office, break room, staff bathroom, service entrance, and parking for 8+ on either a side or the back. If you have extra room consider things like mini golf or go-karts/rc-cars, anything that keeps the energy level HIGH!

The City and Conservation Committee are pleased to award Building Permits to the following contractors: JustPetro, kanzen, PanAm, and porkypine. Currently we do not have the blueprints (wall diagrams) ready to go, so do NOT remove any walls, doors, windows, or plumbing yet. You may recolor/wallpaper/flooring anything and get your warehouses cleaned up inside and out. Round scores are posted! See the first post for the table, and detailed score breakdowns are available to view on this page of the Google Doc.

This round will officially start tomorrow, but I figured y'all could use the headstart, and my tomorrow starts way later than I want to get these to you.

?? CatherineTCJD got more points than I did. Shouldn't she also get a permit?

So building permits aren't given based solely on points. The judges are given a renovation theme and we judge how well your shell works with the renovation plan. So in this instance, you had layout more suited for the planned renovation for the warehouse shell. The renovation has yet to be revealed by Phae but I hope that made some sense.

Partly revealed. The points scored have nothing to do with who gets permits to renovate, it's a sly system.

Also, every contestant is required to sit out one round. That helps the scoring stay even. According to a consensus of the judges, Cat's layout was not as well suited as some of the others. Don't think of it as a punishment, think of it as a chance to focus more on the next round, or to take a breather, or to take care of some IRL things like ForeverCamp is doing.
