Because Jo, like some of us in SA, uses UK English? Or rather English based on UK English. (I looked it up as well).

Charmful, yes you can jump ahead and start judging the libraries as well. Thanks!

re: Concession stand, yeah that actually is a weird name for that. Coupons get turned into any cashier when making a purchase.

Scores are now added to the table for the warehouse reno. I'll try to get the spreadsheet with the scoring breakdown up sometime today or tomorrow yet. It's back to being a really close contest!

What do coupons have to do with concessions? Confuzzled American (who wishes she was Scottish) is confuzzled

ETA: Ahhh! I just looked it up (thanks, google) Apparently the aforementioned confuzzled American has been confuzzled since before writing up her library reno... I should've used a different word; like say kiosk or bar or counter...

Interesting quote gleaned from the interwebs: Although a concession in an argument is the act of yielding or granting something, don't get confused and think that a concession stand is called that because the workers are granting you popcorn at the baseball stadium. Concessions at a ballpark or at another venue are called that because the stadium has granted the right to sell food to a certain provider. Chew on that the next time you're munching on peanuts at a game.

Points to Phae! It's a requirement in the warehouse reno.

Thank you, judges I really appreciate the comments and learn a lot from them! Delighted with my score too - I found this one quite hard to change into a family fun center - yet also a lot of fun.

Petro, you made a great lot.

ForeverCamp, have fun! The $80 price tag on the base game is way too high for me to get sims 4 yet.

I justify it to myself because this is almost literally my only form of entertainment. $80 (with the occasional top up for packs) for years of fun is much cheaper than $50+ a week in bar hopping or whatever people in my stage of life do for fun these days.

THESE TODDLERS WIN THE WORLD, Y'ALL. They have skills. They climb stairs. THEY FRIGGING SLEEP LIKE CATS ON THE FLOOR OMG.

I prefer playing Sims to going out myself. (They are cute, they actually really are cute, I patched my game last night as well. Haven't slept much )

So cute. They really do look well done. The first thing EA has got right in quite some time.

Apparently in the US it was $15 and close to $30 over here. The night before the toddler patch I went to look and thought about buying it as I had heard of the $15 but got put off seeing $30. Wish I had a go back button and would have bought it.

Are we supposed to be judging? I'll get to it soon, it's just very hot and learning the queue has been enough on my plate.

@joandsarah77 I think we are judging the Round 4 shell (school) and round 3 reno (library)

Uh oh! My social bar is low - that's why I posted today.

You're probably right. I'll see what I can do tonight. I seem to recall something being mentioned about the school.

Come on, judges! I now have a full-time classroom, two university courses, a manuscript to finish and a caregiver role to perform in real life. I'd like to try and get one thing off my plate.

Try being a queue mod. My brain needs a break. I've done one, be happy.

@Phaenoh I've finished judging the school shell. Just checking that porkypine's is the correct one linked?

Jo, thank you for getting those shells scored. Take a breather from us and focus on the learning duties of queue modding for a bit. It can be more than a little overwhelming, and tends to be a thankless job, but as a former queue mod, I fully understand the importance of it and know that it can be very rewarding in strange ways.

Everyone, scores from the school shells are posted, and it's a really tight race! I've updated the Google Docs spreadsheet to include shells scores for both Shell 3 and Shell 4.

And lastly, what we've all been waiting for, announcing Reno Round 4!!! Since everyone still with us has already had their skip round, everyone is getting a building permit.

Nice job! The Conservation Committee has approved your bid to turn this old school into an apartment building! On your apartment building's ground floor there is a leasing office, a club room with tv and couches and similar recreation, a workout room, an indoor pool (your foundation-less gym is your best bet for placement), and a small kitchenette. The two upper floors have been converted into 4 apartments: 2 two-bedrooms on the second floor, and the top floor has 1 one-bed and 1 three-bed apartment. The playground and parking has been cleaned up and kept.

Remember, all new plumbing MUST be within 2 squares of the old existing plumbing. This might be difficult getting bathrooms and kitchens to all your new apartments, but please try your best. If you absolutely must install a new location, please try to use that new location for multiple units (place the new kitchen sinks back to back along a shared wall or such.) As far as which walls may be removed and what must stay, all walls that divide the classroom from the hallway must stay, but any interior classroom divider walls may be removed.

Phaaaaeeeee.... Why you do this to me?! I see why the bathrooms had to be centrally located now. I'll try to chip away at it this weekend. :P

Oh, boy, I did not expect an apartment! And, guess what, I have only built one, once, for a competition. Let me go and think deeply about it then Thank you for giving all of us permits!

Thank you, Judges, and sorry about forgetting the multiple staircases - I was probably in too much of a vacation mood

Uh huh... I thought so - Apartment Building coming right up That plumbing conundrum is going to turn the last of my dark hairs grey
Now to see if my school shell is still there (I had to do a complete reinstall to get H&M to play nice - it wouldn't install properly - So, keep fingers crossed please!)
Is the juice bar stocked Petro?
