Hey guys, just writing quickly to let you know that I'm still alive and getting on forth with judging your entries. I just want to congratulate you all on making it to this point, it is definitely a huge time-consumption for me to judge each and every one of your entries. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but they're all beautiful and I enjoy all the effort that you guys have been putting in!
Also, I FINALLY may be getting a new computer (MacBook Pro) today, so I may actually get to play sims (sims 2) for the first time in a year!!!!! Well I don't know, I gotta read up on how to transfer data and whatnot since they rereleased it for apple products like the UC, but only the EPs they ever made for mac..

Good to know you're heart is still beating, thanks for your time in judging everything, same to d_dgjdhh and PharaohHound - constructive comments, notes of praise, general feedback etc are very much appreciated!
New computers are always good! And wow, a year without playing!? I remember the struggles of the mac simmer. Being taunted by Apartment Life and Free Time which I couldn't have. Everyone talking about SimPE which was not an option for the mac, etc. I am also not sure how the UC would work for Mac in that case, if they left those EPs out on it or not.
Uh oh! My social bar is low - that's why I posted today.

Seth - there is something for mac - instead of the Ultimate Collection, I think it is called the Complete Collection. I think it has all the ep's that has been made for mac.

Yeah I know what you guys mean, and it's called the Super Collection, which is basically all of the mac EPs and in one application. And my thoughts exactly, the life of a mac TS2 simmer is tough since I have always been taunted by AL and FT, I just down own a windows computer so it's always been tough.

I have just had either the monitor or the screencard seen saying bye'bye to me. Will try to solve/find a way to submit my entry, which is at least ready (I think). So I am on my phone, which is a bit of a challenge itself. Talk to all of you as soon as I can - hectic now with work.

I removed all the rar files I had lurking and used the bulk namer thing just to reduce file names and pulled a few items so it was below 10 gigs. I don't think it's anything in particular, just my computer getting old and wheezy which is why I really need this upgrade. But it was so annoying it crashed on loading the lot last night so that was that. I never feel like loading back up after that. I might turn shadows off, that helped my old game which started crashing the same way.
I hope so too.

Hi !
Some news from me. I have to give up the contest because I've no computer for now.
I can borrow one but it's Windows10. And I don't even know if they'll let me install the game.
It's a pity for me but it's more luck to win for you
Good luck to you all !

Jo - I just know how that feels! (Finally got my band on the road at 3 am this morning - working on musicians can really be exhausting. A cop stopped them on the way to the next city - and bought a cd from them )

I love that a cop bought a CD. Talking of cops I rang hubby the other night to see how moving the shop was going and I noticed the phone sounded hollow and said "Are you cleaning up the old shop?" and he says "No I'm in the lock up" lol he was doing a lock job down at our local cop shop. He gets a kick out of saying silly stuff like that. It's not like we have a huge crime rate here or anything, but they are really hard on those locks. Schools too- good for business lol.
I managed to do this CFE bit last night and save. Phew. Makes me twitchy when a lot that is only in build mode crashes my game twice.
Anyone know where there are some low lattice type fences? I need it to be 4 clicks high.

We do have a huge crime rate. A HUGE crime rate. It is actually quite peaceful where I stay, Limpopo has always been known as the province of peace, compared to other parts of my country; and crime is mostly due to illegal immigrants; because of Zimbabwe, the border being very close to our town. And political rallies where things have to be burnt down and vandalised is next on the list (but the local people, all groups, don't really do that and protest marches from around here never make the news because it is rather peaceful).
CFE a bit, just a bit, and then I thought I would try a new experiment, but it was a complete disaster

This is an incredibly clever and intricate idea that is executed wonderfully. I am really impressed by how you made a massive pool appear as a pseudo-beach, as well as incorporating your Greek-styled environment and building in the process. I like how the dock and terraces appear so natural and exclusive portions of your build, in addition to how they meld perfectly together with the rest of your building. Also, it's amazing how you did not need to manipulate the required shell for this round in any way, and how you were able to make the wood siding look so natural in your stone-rich destination with all the blue and white.
Furnishing/decorating skill 4.5
I love the consistency of the blue and white furniture here which matches perfectly and obviously suits your entry. The landscaping you did here was clearly top-notch, which I can tell through all of the decorations you put into making your 'beach'. It feels that the inside of your clubhouse feels overshadowed a bit by the exterior atmosphere, and that is why I did not give you the full amount of points, but I still like how you decorated it. I actually think it's just the colour of blue you chose to use on some of the furniture on the inside, which is not as bright as it seems it should be.
Destination theme 5
If you couldn't tell by how I was writing above, I absolutely adore your entry. It is definitely one of my favourites for this competition since it just screams 'Greece' once more and works incredibly well with your other builds.

Very nice clubhouse on a beach setting, the cliff decorations around the pond look interesting. I noticed the seaweeds and rocks under the pond too. The exterior decoration is great. The architecture remains consistent to the previous entries with the colour scheme and curved roof. The furnishings inside the property is fine. Perhaps more seating for guests, other indoor floor/wall decorations, or mixed floor textures could have helped reduce the impression of empty spaces between objects? The flow between rooms looks fine.

Very clever way to create a natural-looking body of water! Good use of the shell. This time, for me, the arched roof doesn't work quite as well as in previous rounds. Of course it's still well-built, but for me it's a bit of a mismatch with the flat-roofed awnings.
Furnishing/decorating skill 3
Your use of the same colour scheme throughout all of your lots is a really nice way to keep strong thematic consistency between them. I quite like the beach area and patios for deco. The main interior I'm on the fence about. The bar feels a little oversized, and the dining area in the other wing seems oddly laid-out with one of the tables sort of floating aimlessly away from the others. Overall I'd just like to see the interior decorating tightened up a little bit, if that makes sense.

I really get the impression of a kind of a club's lodge or upscale youth sleepover camps from your entry. Like it's not a bad thing at all, since it's also quite a unique way to showcase your entry. From these vibes I feel like this is a place for city people to go camping, where they're not too separated from urban society, and always have the option to go back indoors. It feels like you could have maybe divided and filled the indoor space of the shell better if you figured out a better idea with what you were going with, like a large eating cafeteria indoors maybe. It also seems that your tents area is pushed off to the side a bit, due to the larger terrace at the back, which likely shouldn't have been that big.
Furnishing/decorating skill 4
Continuing what I mentioned above, it feels like this entry has a lot of potential but could have been executed a bit better. There seems like a lot of wasted space inside of this shell which doesn't quite work with the idea of a campground. Likewise, I should mention, what is the purpose of having such a large washroom and why are there chairs beside the showers? However, on the outside, your beautiful landscaping and perfectly planned out true camp ground makes up for my doubts on the glamourous, wooden interior. I can see that you thought of the idea of a camp ground, but could not go much further beyond it unfortunately.
Destination theme 4.5
I finally get what you're doing, it took me a while to figure it out, but you're doing the United States as your destination. Something like a grand, cross-country trip, which I understand through your chosen locations all in different points of the country. I honestly did not understand this primarily when your chosen destination was 'America', but you seem to make it work. It's just unfortunate that this idea is trumped by regular realism, but hey, this is Sims after all.

Nice visitor's centre on the campground, it has a good setup of furniture, placed together well so that there are less empty spaces. There's a selection of carpets on the floors that make it visually better than only floorboards. The flow is good. I like the exterior decorations too, the pine trees in front, the stone pathways, and variety of bushes and flowers. Definitely a good property to visit. There wasn't much expansion of the main building, aside from the front terrace, and the roof on the building, and so build skill remains average.

I like the way you've expanded the shell by adding a front and side porch! For me though the interior layout is a little odd. The reception is way at the back of the building, the bathroom is huge and unisex (which would be unusual in the US), and there's a lovely kitchen but no indoor eating area (what if it rains?). The fire pit is a really nice touch.
Furnishing/decorating skill 3
The interior decorating is quite charming. It all fits in well with the theme. The only thing that really bothers me are the campsites. There are no amenities or any furnishings (apart from tents) at the individual campsites, which would be very odd in a typical US campground. Having some chairs, kids' toys, individual barbecues (are there any in TS4? If not, disregard) etc at each site would make them feel much more lived-in and realistic.

I truly appreciate how you tried to go out of the box for this entry, but I must say that seems designed with not much direction. Really, it feels like this structure is too much, even for your idea of a large family cabin. I am not a big fan of the open concept layout of your first floor, it seems like a lot of empty space that could have been divided or rearranged to create separate rooms, in addition to reducing the building by one floor. I still think you could have had one or two big rooms, but the first floor should not have been entirely 'multi-purpose' it just doesn't work for your type of build, nor does it match your location it seems.
Furnishing/decorating skill 3.5
I am only really impressed by the greenery of your build and the few features that it incorporates that make it feel very natural, also I don't quite think those big concrete fences are the best non-CC choice as a surrounding fence for your large home. Still, I think you could have maybe just rotated some of the trees, like those birch ones, cause I am able to tell that they are all placed facing the same direction and it looks unnatural. You really went over the top with the tan-coloured wood on the inside and the lack of stone contrast is really upsetting. You could have definitely furnished another way, since houses are not totally furnished using one furniture choice/brand. I am certain that there are other colours and furniture choices you could have used and created a better result showcasing your location, since right now I am not quite sure what you are even trying to do.

It feels like you lost course with your previous entries, since the only way I can really tell that your building matches its location is through the plants and partly through the exterior walls.

Amazing use of trees for bushes in the front, almost thought it was those OMSP custom content. Then upon closer inspection, you dug steep slopes on the ground instead. You've expanded upon the shell provided, and so points to you for doing so compared to the other contenders who remained conservative in their approach. Great exterior decor, and adequate amount of cluttering of the property with interesting placements. Interior decorations and furnishings are very good. An impressive effort, congratulations.

You could have definitely furnished another way, since houses are not totally furnished using one furniture choice/brand. I am certain that there are other colours and furniture choices you could have used and created a better result showcasing your location, since right now I am not quite sure what you are even trying to do.

All of the outdoor seating, both for the cafe and on the other side terrace is a smart idea since this is a place to enjoy the outdoors, and I really like the volleyball court. This is a very intriguing and cleverly applied idea of a souvenir/gift shop, and you went above and beyond my expectations for this kind of venue. I love how you took into consideration the effects of the local climate, like the constant sun since the requirement for shade as a necessity in the structuring of your market. Likewise, its setup is perfect and directs good people flow. I also like how you incorporated the wood requirement into your build, as the sun-bleached colour blends in well with the stone and stucco.

The choice of brick and panels on the outside are okay, the large multi-level windows on the mezzanine floor are good. This is an interesting sort of mix of venues, but you managed to make it all work together quite well in my opinion. I like your choice to include a basement as the centre for your arcade and games area, since it really gives it a lucrative attribute relating to an underground/'off the radar' sort of scene. But then again, it's not like video games could be outlawed or anything. Your division of space is spectacular since you managed to meld all of the split levels together, which I know is quite the difficult job. Likewise, I like the movie theatre you created with all of those different levels, a very notable feature that must have taken some time to create.
Furnishing/decorating skill 3.5
It is obvious being CC-free is quite tough because it is evident that you put your best foot forward trying to tie all of your furniture to your destination, or at least with the choice of using bright colours. I mean this more as a compliment since it is definitely just a right amount of bright colours used and it ties well with the idea of an arcade/events hub. I believe you lost track with what you were doing in the restaurant though since the celebratory/wedding theme doesn't tie well with the rest of your building, which is somewhat shocking. Also, there is a lack of tropical greenery around the grounds of your entry, or any other decoration for that sort, which I believe is something that shouldn't be forgotten since it feels quite bare.

Your design of a building on just the required shell, which both fascinates and impresses me as I am given the feeling once again of a 'cosy' environment. I am glad you continued with the cottage-like design of your destination in this build, with colonial features mixed in, since it really works in your favour for this kind of venue. I like the design of your floor plan which makes the shell and porches appear so natural, as well as all of the hanging elements. I should also mention that I like how you included the two separate staircases, mirrored in the interior beside the check-in desk.
Furnishing/decorating skill 4.5
You definitely blew me away with the layout of furniture in the interior of your bed and breakfast, as well as those on the patios and beside the pool. I like the contemporary and traditional mix of furniture styles which coalesce perfectly, and seem to resemble what your destination is going for, which is a much more urbanized setting in my opinion. I like the choice of adding forestry to the side of your lot, but I feel that you should have also added some sort of greenery or landscaping to the other side where the building is, since it is evidently bare. I get the impression that you were going for the 'grand' effect, but some sort of shrubs or small trees would have been nice and they could have just been placed near the building walls or the fences.

Beautiful bed and breakfast property. Love the mowed grass terrain, and the trees on the right of the lot. It's an inviting home, I like the cosy backyard with a wading pool. The interior design is very well done, the rooms are full and decorated properly with little empty spaces to think that something else could have been added. This is a perfect build to me.
Now comes the downside. You have the same issue as some of our contestants, where the floor plan of the building is zoomed far away. Please ensure that you clearly present the buildings. For example, if you're concerned that there isn't enough pictures for the property, show one picture (such as the one you currently have) of the zoomed out building's property as one for the whole lot. Then for the other pictures, zoom in on the main building for the interior levels. Additionally, there's no need to use an image for the pool's floor plan, it's an ineffective use for presenting the entry. Points were deducted for that.

This ties in well with your other entries and it feels like you are creating quite the unique destination so far. I keep seeing it as a place in cottage country since it has these recurring themes of a higher-than-one-would-expect urban presence in it.

Very cute exterior! The interior is well organized and seems to flow well.

Lovely job here. The rooms are distinctive, but still work well together. I wish there'd been a touch more landscaping around the building, it looks kind of bare.

Wish the floorplan shots were focused more on the main building. It's hard to see the details. Ideally it would be nice if the roof level one could show the whole lot, just to give a sense of it, and the rest could zoom in more on the structure.

I really like the idea you implemented here of a seaside vacation home meant for a few people yet it was slightly expanded to accommodate more family members without altering its initial structure and design immensely. An entry of this sort definitely has its own story to tell, one that which you created and portrayed beautifully in my opinion. The old fishing hut which also contains its own history, thanks a plenty for clarifying that, is well suited to belong in your dream family vacation home, as well as in this destination. I am also glad that you created the uneven terrain to represent your location, and it really works to your benefit in my opinion.

To restate, I really think you demonstrated your seaside home's ability to accommodate more people than you would initially believe quite well, since it is the impression that I am given. I like how you applied all of the coastal and stone touches, specific to your kind of destination, like the fishing hut, which is one of my favourite parts of your entry. I believe that you challenged yourself with the creation of this entry, but it really seems to have paid off, as I get the sense of this stone structure being a very cosy place to be.

I can see the complete consistency between your entries, and am given quite the good impression of your very unique destination. I honestly can say that I never really imagined a place such as this existed, which also contains such a strong history to it.

It's a good little house to visit away from home. In terms of the exterior, I enjoyed the pool area. It has nice stone masonry. The terrain paints on the outside has interesting textures leading from the sidewalk to the beach area. In terms of the interior build, the dining room looks inviting. The veranda is a wonderful place to sit at too. Great choices of custom content. I feel that there could have been more variance with the flooring on the foundation level. The blue tiles are nice, perhaps carpeting would have helped? It's not very easy to see the interior floor plan as well, it's too zoomed out. Points were deducted for that.

I am beyond impressed by your choice to design two buildings, instead of one required shell, and making two amazing restaurants. I love the idea of an old boathouse converted into a restaurant, which shows how you took into consideration other structures local to this sort of environment and area, that is by the harbour. Likewise, the Slip Inn, another structure that is local to this area seems perfectly placed and designed, while also taking the area's history into account.

I share similar sentiments with my comment above, since your pub and lounge are furnished perfectly and appear incredibly realistic. I really like the nautical theme, which is something that is obviously attached to your maritime location. Likewise, the renovated boathouse appears more modern in a sense, with your choice of furniture, which I also really like since you would expect that from a renovated building. I still really like the fact that the boathouse is open to light and feels like a more artistic/'hip' place to go to rather than just the pub or bar beside it. I really like every single portion of this entry, all the little details put in, including the storage spaces blow me away, this is really an absolutely stunning entry.

I am very certain that you are constantly creating a very lively coastal destination that shares its own deep history and strong ties to its dominating culture, that of the British. Meaning that there are no problems here. I have finally developed the understanding that it is situated as a maritime culture, yet it is unique since it combines tropical themes with British influences. I hope that's what you're going for.

Amazing restaurant, love the building, very nice stone wall and roof combination. It's a simple yet great first impression of the property with that second image. The exterior decorations are good, with leave scraps in the front, and boats around for display. The interior design is full of details and appropriate clutter objects. The way the colours mix is great. Will definitely be a bustling business for the locals and tourists alike. The flow within the buildings are fine. I'd like to visit this place for the atmosphere, very good effort in this entry.
