You can use the brushe, with a regular opacity, and then paint your texture. (green=highlights, red=root, blue=tips)

I downloaded the trail version of Photoshop CS4. I have no idea where to change the .dds format at. And I also have no idea how to export as DDX5. I've always had problems with photoshop, and that's why I don't know this stuff.

Thanks~ though it didn't turn out very nice in game...when editing in milkshake for the mesh, there are 4 panels, the bottom right one, should the hair be in one colour and not some gray and some black?

To save as DDX5, you must make everything you want, and then File, Save As.. and change .dds files. A window will popup, and then you change ddx5 interpolated alpha, and Save

Hi, I was having some trouble with the .obj files. The AFbody, AFhead ect. When I click File>Import, there is no Obj option.

savio_araujo110 - Can you attach your DDS files so we can take a look? That's really weird that your hairs are doing that.

Nandonalt - Best recommendation for bone assignments is to use CTU to extract a clothing mesh and then to use the Unimesh bone tool to take a look at some of the assignments in the body near where you want to assign your hair. So if you want to look at assignments under the breasts (you're doing under-boob hair?!) then select a vertex or two that would be laying underneath your hair when it's worn by a sim, and bring up the unimesh tool, and see how they're assigned. Then close it, select a few more a bit up/down/left/right/whatever, and look at them. Best way to get a good idea of what nice assignments look like, and if your assignments are similar to the underlying body, then the hair is much less likely to poke through when the sim does funky animations.

Can you tell me how you did your 'TotallyBaldHair_HystericalParoxysm' hair so all the different age are in the same mesh cause that make the hair stay the same when the sim is changing age (as oppose to what EA have done with the game)

Can anyone help me to make a MainControl dds file?? I cannot make a good MainControl dds file to make the hair can be recolored more better. And I saw HP's tutorial of making MainControl dds file, but I don't understand. (May be I'm a stupid of Photoshop )

I want somebody to help me or teach me to make the MainControl dds file.

That's the hair and the MainSpecular and MainDiffuse dds files.

but when using milkshape how do u make each group a seperate colour so u dont get them confused?

ok guys i tried to follow this bit.....
Scalp for CMHairShortCleanCut (good scalp for children, both genders):

but if i type anything like that into ANY box i get a crash every time
at first i thought maybe my lod's werent working but i tried to generate without the textures and it worked first time...im now confused yet again.....really not my day
